Tennessee's next coach....

A local reporter close to the Vols says Brohm's announcement is imminent. I don't think Morris was up the list, so his cancellation may not mean anything.
Still, Tennessee fans feel jilted again. A lot of us wish they'd just patch things up with Lane Kiffin. He'd at least make life interesting.
Thanks in part to your former QB, I think you can officially scratch Lane Kiffin off the list.

What about that Arkansas high school coach who never punts and always does an on-side kick?

Sounds like Tennessee has moved on, and is now targeting Dave Doeren. At this point, they may as well just bring Butch Jones back and try again next year.
And we thought Kevin Anderson was the master of botched coaching searches...

Speaking of....maybe Edsall is ready for a new challenge.

Lane Kiffin tweeted this out a few hours ago. Safe to say he's enjoying this shitshow.

Btw, I hope Tennessee keeps getting spurned. It’s just awesome to see.
Thanks.

Sorry man but the way the Schiano stuff was handled and the way the fans complained, this is karma.

Not everyone complained. Many of us recognize it as a manufactured controversy.
So... I understand about some fans having crazy high expectations and then being disappointed and mad about the choice. I get that. But exactly how did it get so spun-up so quick? Were media guys complicit, or was it more organic than that?
From a distance, it seems better-than-funny because of the poetic justice of it: seeing some fan-crazies screw the pooch and then get put in their place.
Of course nobody's thinking about all the other fans, or the players, or anybody else who's close to it. As soon as you look at it like that, then it's not quite so funny.
But, while I do feel for you (and I do) it's still pretty funny... it just makes you shake your head.... reminds you of what SNAFU means...
I hope y'all can get past it before too long...

No doubt a lot of Tennessee fans are enduring a brutal time right now, but all the focus is on the idiot-wing of the fanbase who are getting their karma. How they found a convenient excuse to sanctimoniously run off a coach they didn't want simply for football reasons was awful....but what UT fans should also be worried about is how it appears there is a major disconnect between the AD and the chancellor. Those two need to get on the same page, and quick, if they are going to salvage this mess.

Is Martin out as a candidate?
You wouldn't think so, but it seems like they're targeting everyone but him at this point. They must not like his lack of head coaching experience, that's the only explanation.
