Former Maryland ST coordinator Pete Lembo is the new head coach at Buffalo.
For the moment, all FBS head coaching positions are filled. [looks toward Ann Arbor]

Talk of Jim Harbaugh to the Chargers is heating up. Aaron Wilson said talks have progressed to the point of identifying who would be on the staff, and includes current Michigan DC Jesse Minter, Jim’s son Jay on special teams, and our old friend Greg Roman as OC (lucky for Justin Herbert he already got his big extension).

Why would Harbaugh want to come back and coach in the same conference as John. Aint gonna lie, getting Herbert a good HC def has the chance to make that team a real threat.
They survived the SB, so I think they’ll manage more frequent regular season matchups. And like you said, LA has the best QB situation of the open jobs.

Been an interesting ride for Jim Harbaugh lately:
- Investigated by NCAA for recruiting violation
- Suspended three games (by Michigan)
- Investigated by NCAA for sign-stealing
- Suspended three more games (by Big Ten)
- Sued Big Ten
- Dropped suit
- Won national championship
- Secured $3M in incentive bonuses
- Left Michigan for NFL job in LA

Harbaugh becomes the first reigning national championship coach that will not return since Tom Osborne retired after 1997.
Three of the four coaches from this past CFP are no longer with their team.
Only three active college football head coaches have won either a CFP or BCS title - Kirby Smart, Dabo Swinney and Mack Brown.

Sherrone Moore it is. Good hire, and also should maintain stability with both the coaching carousel and transfer portal.

Here we go again. Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley is leaving to become the DC for the Green Bay Packers.
This one is pretty noteworthy, since unlike Harbaugh, Hafley is leaving a HC job to be a coordinator. I have read a lot of CFB media types who say coaches are telling them, mostly off the record, that they are fed up and burnt out with how challenging roster management is these days. NFL seasons are definitely a grind, but at least there you get some semblance of an offseason. No more in college, where you are recruiting 24 x 7 x 365, and somehow have to fit in time to actually gameplan and coach your players too.
It will be interesting to see how much of a trend this becomes. Hafley does have an NFL background, and obviously there are nowhere near enough NFL jobs to match the number of jobs at power conference schools. But I don't think Hafley will be the last to take this sort of opportunity if it's offered.

Auburn hired Durkin as their new DC.
Fingers crossed he doesn't kill anyone else.

Durkin, Freeze, and Pearl in the same athletic department.
“It just means more…”
They need to lure Bobby Petrino from Ark to be the OC to complete the Mt Rushmore of Most Honorable Coaches.

ESPN is reporting UCLA head coach Chip Kelly is a potential candidate to join new Commanders HC Dan Quinn's staff as offensive coordinator. It's no big secret Kelly has been looking at getting back in the NFL, as he reportedly interviewed twice for the Raiders' OC job before they chose Kliff Kingsbury.
While Kelly may be another one who is weary of the current college football landscape, this seems more likely a result of his job security in Westwood being on shaky ground. He was seemingly on the brink of being fired after this past season, but a huge win against USC and a bowl win over Boise St apparently changed minds. Also, UCLA is not exactly in a great spot to begin play in the Big Ten....they lost a lot of players from last year's 8-5 team.

So turns out Kingsbury won’t be joining the Raiders and now is also a candidate for the Commanders OC job.
