Wildest part is that the contract is fully guaranteed. So if and when he gets a new deal, he still gets the full $77 million buyout.
Texas A&M firing Jimbo with a whole lot of years and money left on his deal.

BSU just fired Andy Avalos. Weird as heck timing giving they actually played one of their better games last night. All kinds of stories coming out about unrest in the locker room.

With the crazy day it was in the MWC, they're right there in the race to play for the title. It's been a disappointing season by their standards, so I would not have been surprised if he wasn't there next year, but I'd think it has to be locker-room related to let him go right now.

The price of crude oil must be strong right now, that's the only way I see them affording that plus a whole new staff.

Not sure about your neck of the woods but has prices have dropped about 75 cents here the last two weeks

I actually filled up just this morning for $4.49/gl, which is about .30/gl less than I paid last time. Guess A&M might need to raise the student activity fee a bit to compensate.

San Diego State head coach Brady Hoke announces he is "retiring" after this season. I use the quotes because with the Aztecs sitting at a very disappointing 3-7 it's hard to imagine he would have been back anyway.

Mississippi State fired Zach Arnett. Tough gig….inherited a tragic situation after Mike Leach suddenly died, got the job permanently after winning a bowl game, then fired 10 games into his first season.
Noteworthy is that MSU played Texas A&M last Saturday. Wonder if it is the first game in college football history after which both head coaches were fired.

A UCLA source indicates Chip Kelly is likely to be fired after the USC game this weekend. They've dropped 2 straight including an ugly 17-7 loss at home to Arizona State last Sat. I forget the numbers on the extension he signed before 2022, but I seem to recall the buyout was pretty friendly from UCLA's perspective.

Dino Babers out at Syracuse.
Meanwhile Arkansas' AD informed the team that Sam Pittman will return in 2024.

Per Nicole Auerbach, Oregon State's Jonathan Smith has emerged as Michigan State's top choice for their head coaching vacancy. Beavers fans could be in for a very rough 24 hours.

Oregon State should just disband football at this point. They don't know who they're playing next season, now they don't have a coach, and as soon as the portal opens they'll have no players either.

Rumor swirling that Kentucky's Mark Stoops is the leading candidate for Texas A&M. Not sure if I like it or not, but you can say he did get Kentucky to its ceiling, and that's not nothing.

Mississippi State appears to be targeting Oklahoma OC Jeff Lebby.
With the transfer portal window opening on Dec 4, these schools aren't wasting any time filling vacancies.

Now multiple sources are saying Stoops will remain at Kentucky.
