Norvell to Florida State. Know the Seminoles facilities aren't great, but hard to imagine them not rising again.

Joe Moorhead out at Mississippi State after 2 years.
Apparently Gene Chizik is a candidate for the job which would be...something.

Mike Leach headed to Mississippi State, so it'll be Kiffin vs. Leach in the Egg Bowl.

Mark Dantonio is resigning at Michigan State. He was on a great run there several years back, but he didn't sustain that success on the field, and the program has had significant off-field issues of late as well.

Probably a mutual decision. I think he is a good coach, it will be interesting to see where he lands.

It is just one day after a former recruiting director told the NCAA that Dantonio committed violations. On the other hand, it's the day before Signing Day and he just got paid a retention bonus of over $4M last month. Odd to say the least.

Sounds like Luke Fickell will remain at Cincinnati rather than go to Michigan State. If you're a MD fan, this is probably good news. He just signed the #40 ranked class at Cincy (per 247 composite), which is by far the highest ranking among G5 schools (next closest was Boise St at #65). The guy can coach too. If he had moved on to East Lansing he probably could have kept Sparty in the same conversation as OSU, PSU and Michigan, while regularly crushing the Terps.
Mel Tucker also took his name out of the running to stay at Colorado. Things might be looking bad at MSU as far as potential NCAA sanctions.

And just like that, Tucker had a change of heart and will be the new coach at Michigan State after all. MSU probably just had to sweeten the payout a bit for him.

Now that Paul Johnson is out at GT I'd be nice to see the triple option in a power five school so I hope Niumatalolo gets that job

Illinois hires Bret Bielema, signing former Wisconsin and Arkansas coach to six-year deal

Bielema and Wisconsin did not part on the friendliest of terms. His first trip to Madison should be interesting.

Bryan Harsin is leaving Boise State to take the job at Auburn. Interestingly, it will be the second time Harsin has replaced Gus Malzahn, the first time being at Arkansas St.

Steve Sarkisian expected to be named Texas HC.
He won't have to go far for his introductory press conference, since he was already in Dallas last night.
As for Herman, it seemed like the shine had worn off him the moment the Terps ran them off their home field in his very first game.

Troy Aikman let slip with an interesting tidbit while he was working today's Dallas/NY Giants game on FOX. Apparently former Boise State QB, and current Dallas OC, Kellen Moore had interviewed for and accepted the HC position at his alma mater before Jerry Jones & Co. swooped in with a big extension to keep him in Dallas.
What Aikman didn't say, but many have inferred, is that Moore is the next Jason Garrett....the OC who is The Chosen One being groomed to be the next Cowboys HC once Jones is ready to buy out Mike McCarthy (like he did Wade Phillips before Garrett was promoted).
