Been calling this since early May. Obvious move, and not surprised it happened this soon.

Awesome, give him a chance until Reimold is "healed". If he looks good goodbye and goodluck Nolan.

He and Valencia could be a good DH platoon. Hopefully an upper 700 OPS from them or better.

Valencia is a career .828 vs lefties and is hitting .804 against them this year. It will be up to Urrutia to keep them above .700 because Valencia is good against lefties.

Reimold to the DL....just DFA him and cut him for Christ's sakes!

Dickerson has done "dick" since June...option him down and hope he catches fire or in case Hank can't handle ML pitching quite yet.  My thought is that Dickerson will not see time witih the O's again and be traded at some point...

This is the correct Spanish pronunciation.

The correct Spanish pronunciation is actually as follows:

oo   -   ROO   -   ti-ah

the 'R' sound is a trilled R.

'ia' is considered 1 syllable in spanish, which is why imperfect verb forms (like comía) are accented even though they are the 2nd last syllable.

Yeah, I know. You can't totally count on Valencia to produce either, though. I do think he's a good option for that role and am hoping Urrutia can handle the heavy side of the passion admirably.

I think it's pronounced "Not Reimold", and that's a BIG win in itself!

You are correct. What icterus typed sounded right in my head, but the actual spelling of the phonetics was probably wrong. Yours looks right, though I believe it would be

oo ROO tia

As you said the ia is one syllable because of the diphthong, but because most Spanish words "syllabify" as CV (consonant-vowel), the t would go with ia.

Who knew I'd use my Spanish Phonetics and Dialectology class on a sports message board. :D

Yeah, this sounds right. I think  I remembered reading somewhere that both U's are pronunciated so this would make sense.

Oh there's no question Thorne will botch it at least once in his first game.

Fair enough.  In English the habit is to slur vowels if they aren't meant to be a separate syllable, so I wanted to be clear that there is a distinct 'i" and a distinct 'ah' sound, rather than something that would resemble 'yah.'  This is despite the fact that Spanish considers 'ia' to be 1 syllable.

"Reimold" is German for "leg ailment".   True story.
