Season... 90 ab's, .603 OPS...
Last year was a complete wash with the injuries...
This year, you have to produce if you are going to be a guy that hopes to be a platoon DH / 5th OF type in the Majors at some point.

I'll say this, if Alvarez has done enough to get an automatic shot next year....why doesn't Urrutia get one? How bad could his defense in LF actually be?
I don't agree with either, but it looks like the plan.

Game threads the following morning after being at the game seem anti climatic for me. Plus as a general point of reference I try and avoid those things in general. The rest of the Board gives me more than enough drama for my needs.

Very cool moment for him...he probably won't get many more like it. Seems like a very sweet guy, easy to root for.

By the way I think he's at best a 4th OF. The defense seems moderately improved but not enough to impress me. It's OK if he doesn't hit the ball hard, but he doesn't drive the ball enough for my tastes.
But yeah...I just wanted to give the guy a litttttle bit of permanent love.

I wrote an article today on Urrutia, and I've had the privilege to chat with him on a number of occasions and he has always been willing to talk baseball and loves the fans. Despite being demoted to AA and DFA'd this year, I gave him credit today because the guy is still hitting at the plate.
Hope he gets a chance somewhere, cause he puts the bat on the ball and gets on base. I get that he doesn't have a lot of power, but there's something to be said about a guy who hits.
If you want to check out my article, you can do so here.
