With questions remaining about their outfield depth, the Baltimore Orioles may look to Rule 5 pick Joey Rickard to step up. While the club could very easily find a role for him, Rickard also faces a few road blocks in his quest to make the Opening Day roster.

Real good read Zach, I did not realize that Urrutia was out of options which makes it somewhat tougher for Rickard to make it. If Rickard was a left handed hitter, I would almost feel sure he was going to get the spot. Speed and D, certainly has a role. Reimold, probably makes it, because he has the best bat and can run and work the pitchers. Hoes and Rickard both can run and play D. Hank can hit some, but can not field or run very well. I think Nolan makes it, and then it becomes do they think they can get Hank through waivers. If they do Rickard gets the first shot. Hoes is on a minor league contract and can start at AAA.

http://www.masnsport...-a-9-3-win.html
Rule 5 pick Joey Rickard hit his first spring home run this afternoon to cap the scoring in the Orioles' 9-3 win over the Pirates.
The kid also played a smooth center field after replacing Adam Jones. He really does look like a keeper.
