Nice grab today in left, returning to the roster after Rasmus leaving the team.

14 xbh's in 139 ab's. .735 OPS. Should again be in the 4th OF mix next year.

Agree, Chris. He's not going to be a big time everyday player but he is plenty decent enough to be on the team.

He seems to have gone to the Joe Orsulak school of playing balls in the corner.

Hyde on Rickard (.405): "He's having a great camp. I like Joey's game. He's swinging the bat well, but he's a good outfielder, can play 3 spots. A really good baserunner & aggressive. He's a good baseball player & he's played like that this spring." #orioles

I actually think Rickard is a better center fielder than on the corners.  He seems to get a truer jump.

He is fine, for a 4th or 5th out fielder, but on this team he will be more than that, and his limitations will show.

On Opening Day, Rickard had a horrible throw. Also had a sweet diving catch.

Today he batted 5th. Had a walk. Also reached base to start the 9th, with his speed helping to coax a throwing error.

In the bottom of the 9th, a ball dropped into the Bermuda Triangle.  He had a long run, maybe could have made the play. Probably should have called off Villar earlier.

Corresponding move?

Had an .806 OPS at AAA (only 64 ab's), but the same .203 baa he had in the Majors.

Was just 5 for his last 34.

Figured he was gone when Rifaela was promoted to AAA and/or Hays injury was significant.

Giants love our AAAA outfielders.
