Matt Carpenter is 5-5 with three homers and two doubles so far today. 11th player in MLB history with 5 extra base hits in one game.
It's only the 6th.

I've always pictured the O's as operating with 1 hand (or more tied). So when discussion 'best moves', it's always within the set of rules the O's imposed on themselves.
But yeah, past that.... among the last available options, based on how they've operated... those were the moves that seemed likely to give the O's their best opportunity.
Always a level of variance with everything... but yeah, not so much.

Boras could of got Matt more money a few years ago and blew it. In 2014 the O's probably would have gone big.

I think some of the luster is wearing off on Boras too.

If you're wondering why Matt Wieters chose to sign with the #stlcards: They were the only team to make him an offer. It came on Feb. 25.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty
