Coors effect is real but way overblown. Holliday, Walker, Lemahieu, Burks, Gallaraga. All 30+ yrs old after they left Col and still producing good to grest numbers. Heck, Lemahieu has broke out after leaving Coors. Tulo is like the one big guy guys could point to but he was pretty much immediately injured and never the same.

Some guys getting paid before the lockout?
Seems very unlikely to me that there is a work stoppage. And if there is, guys wouldn't get paid even if they've signed a deal. No work means no pay.
Boiler-plate contracts for mid-tier guys like Matz who really won't be effected in any way by any potential new league rules don't surprise me. Contracts for young guys like Franco whose service and free agency status seems possible to be significantly altered by some new rules does surprise me.

807 OPS for Arenado in his first season in St Louis. 722 at home / 885 on the road.
890 OPS for him in his Colorado career. 985 at home / 793 on the road.
Will be interesting to see what becomes his new norm.

Also wonder what happens if he stays in St Louis. I do think LA supressed his numbers a bit plus he was comfortable in St Louis

Pujols is having a solid year as a part time guy. Killing LHP. Wonder if he comes back to get to 700 HRs and 2200 RBI. He is 10 HRs away currently and 15 RBI. He could get to the RBI number this year.
Also wonder what happens if he stays in St Louis. I do think LA supressed his numbers a bit plus he was comfortable in St Louis
He is so close, why not come back. DH against left handed pitchers.
Albert is one of the best right handed hitters of all time.

He's been saying he is gonna retire, but maybe he comes back.
Not a lot of roster spots available for the a DH who can only hit lefties, though.
