But that was not what made history. He hit two homers in the same inning Friday in the Baltimore Orioles' 11-5 victory over the Texas Rangers. It is the second time in franchise history a player has hit two home runs in one inning, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Ken Williams did it in 1922 for the St. Louis Browns.
Trumbo is the first player in Orioles franchise history to hit five homers in his first 10 games with the team, also from Elias Sports Bureau.

HIs last 7 hits are HRs.
At least he knows what he's trying to do... plus, he seems to have that uppercut thing figured out...

151 BABIP since the break and a ridiculous 101 in August. I think he's got a good shot at seeing more balls drop in over the remainder of the season. His K-rate, BB-rate, and HR-rate have all been relatively steady month-over-month, BABIP has gone way up and down though and, non-surprisingly, that seems to correlate with his best and worst months.
No idea if this is meaningful at all, but here are some numbers...
K-rate BB-rate HR-rate BABIP OPS April 25.0% 5.2% 6.3% 0.407 0.958 May 29.9% 6.8% 7.7% 0.262 0.841 June 24.6% 6.6% 6.6% 0.316 0.881 July 23.9% 8.3% 6.4% 0.239 0.784 August 28.4% 8.1% 10.8% 0.103 0.773

Will likely be the HR champ, what does he get on the market and do the Orioles entertain bringing him back?

The guys doing the "MLB PLUS" broadcast last night (free game on mlb.tv) went on at some length about Trumbo being on a continuous learning curve... how he is very aware of what stats say about optimal exist angle for dingers (25-30 degrees) and how many feet that adds to distance, and how he works hard to achieve that... because he realized that, given his size and profile, achieving that kind of swing is the only way he's gonna make any real money...

He'll be 3- and 5-years younger than Cruz and Martinez were, respectively, when they signed their deals after the 2014 season. Cruz got 4/$57M and Martinez 4/$68M, both with draft picks attached (Tigers resigned Martinez so didn't give up a pick, but they would've got one if he left). Cruz had a 137 OPS+ and 40 HR and Martinez had a 172 OPS+ and 32 HRs in their walk years, Trumbo currently has a 118 OPS+ and is on pace for 50 HR. Cruz (112 OPS+ in 3 years prior to big walk year) and Martinez (122, with a year missed) had a longer track record of success prior to the big year just before reaching FA than Trumbo (105 OPS+ from '12-'14).
I think he matches the 4-years that those guys got pretty easily, maybe even flirts with a 5th given his age. I don't think he'll get quite as much annually. I think about $15M a year to more or less match Cruz feels like the high end.

Trumbo named AL Comeback POY.
Interesting. No one out with significant injury rebounded this year? Darvish?

He only played about half the season. Certainly looked as impressive as usual coming back from the TJ.

47 bombs is an impressive number so that probably carried the day.

Interesting, how people don't feel this is a huge loss. 47 bombs, pretty easy to replace, I guess.

I guess we'll just have to find a new player to lead the majors in HR's next year. Maybe Davis can do it again.
Shouldn't be hard to improve on Trumbo's .316 OBP though.

I know what it means when one of them big cocksuckers hits the fucking ball over the fence 47 times.
But what is this OBP thing of which you speak?
