Yasmani Grandal has reportedly agreed to a four-year, $73 million contract with the White Sox.

 

Not sure how much of an upgrade he is defensively since I don't follow the comings and going of White Sox catchers, but he does bring a much better OBP.

Except that Keuchel's lost about a yard off his fastball the past few years. That WHIP scares me as well.

 

Still, three years isn't an outrageous commitment.

I like that signing for them.  They've done a good job of adding to this group.  The AL Central is pretty soft so we'll see what they can do.

Obviously this rebuild was done more with a few really smart trades, acquiring so much talent for Sale, Quintana, and Eaton, and now it'll be nice for their fans to see it come to fruition with some of these signings. They may not be done as they're talking to Castellanos and Puig as well.

The White Sox have exited the rebuild mode and are trying to win.....I long to be able to say that with the Orioles sooner than later.

 

I like that the White Sox invested in Moncada.  Once you have subjected your fan base to years of crap, you need to lock down the prizes that the tank job provided.
