Nick Delmonico is still in the league and knocking on the door?
Delmonico, a former 6th round draft pick of the Orioles who was traded to the Brewers in 2013 and released prior to the 2015 season, resurrected his career with a breakout 2016 season with the White Sox (.837 OPS, 17 HR, 30 2B between Double-A and Triple-A). While he fell short of making the 2017 Opening Day roster despite an impressive spring, he has continued to make noise down in Triple-A, where he’s slashing .328/.397/.492 after a 10-for-18 week in which he walked twice and struck out just one time. The 24-year-old will get a shot at some point in 2017 and it wouldn’t be a surprise if it happened before the end of April.

I believe the word was that he had a substance abuse problem. If true (and I have no idea if it was or not), nice to see him bounce back from that hopefully he can make it all the way.

NBC Sports / PST: Report: White Sox nearing deal with Luis Robert
CWS will pay 100% on the contract so they'll likely be spending something north of 50M (Orioles saved them 1.5M) when it's done.
They really need to be working over-time to dump the Frazier, MCabrera, Shields and Robertson contracts where they could offset a huge % of the Luis Robert cost.
None of those guys are going to drive a prospect haul....they really just need to move the $$.

Yankees trading Rutherford...top 40 prospect.
WS have 5 top 50 prospects and 8 in the top 100.
Their system was one of the worst in baseball a few years ago and now they have the best (or second best, depending on how you rank them and Atlanta).

The White Sox are calling up Yoan Moncada, their top prospect. He will replace Frazier at 3B

Seems like a terrible deal for the White Sox to me.
Rutherford has plenty of promise, top 30-50 or so coming into the season as the 18th overall pick in the 2016 draft and considered by many as one of the top bats but with signability issues. He was a prep school kid who was a year removed from HS when drafted, and dominated the rookie league as a 19 y/o which isn't too old for that league, but it isn't young. As a 20 y/o at Low-A this year (Delmarva's league) he's got merely a 281/342/391 slash line. He could fall quite a bit in the rankings if he doesn't have a much better second half. Still very talented and young.
Clarkin has decent numbers but nothign jumping off the statsheet. Polo doesn't look interesting at all to me. 22 y/o OF at High-A with a sub-800 OPS. At those levels scouting matters way more than stats, and I've never seen any of these guys play so I could be way off, but these two don't seem like guys who will ever contribute.
So they got one really good prospect who is having a struggle at Low-A at 20 years old in his first full professional season and two throw-in lottery tickets for Robertson (having a great year and signed through next season), Frazier (decent bat but pending FA), and Kahnle (having an amazing season with 3 years of control left) and they took on Tyler Clippard's remaining salary.

Two years, $15 million, with an $8 million club option for 2020.
That's a lot of beef.

Don't call him that anymore. Beef should be hormone-free.
