Goldschmidt currently rated the #1 player in fantasy.

It's a shame the DBacks aren't quite as good as the Nationals, because he's been every bit the beast that Harper has.

And he's only making $3.1 million!

Goldschmidt has been an All Star every year since 2013, won a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger award, AND came in second in MVP voting in 2013 (behind McCutchen). If someone knows baseball outside of the AL, they know Goldschmidt. Problem is that most people don't know NL ball - I only know the guys on my fantasy team - and Goldschmidt isn't a megaprospect like Harper or Trout. he's doing this at 27, not 23. And the Diamondbacks are consistently mediocre at best, so most people aren't going to pay attention to them anyway.

No question. His numbers are sick, and there are many casual fans who have no idea who he is.

I just asked 10 people at my office (sports knowledge is helpful, though not required) 5 guys had never heard of him.

That's crazy.

He has a chance at the triple crown this year!

Yep. 2 of the 5 were like "oh, of course" when I said he was the Diamondbacks all star 1B..but they could have been lying.

Overheard in the Great American Ball Park press box. “Watching these kids chase balls in the derby is like watching the Phillies outfield."

Who picks the kids... and why can't they catch anything?

Johnny Bench is one of the four greatest living players?

I thought they were going to honor Pete Rose but maybe that last revelation foiled those plans. Koufax looked great.

Rose's ovation was pretty impressive.

Damn. They did the videos for the Franchise 4 for each team, then did the Reds one live on the field.

Trout has hit for the cycle if you add up each of his first AB's in his four all star appearances.
