Is it late? Yes. Have I been drinking? Yes. Did I just get a text from McNulty making fun of my mother? Yes.

All that is to say that I believe we need a positivity only thread. ONLY positive comments here. Anything negative and I will command Stoner to delete. Doesn’t have to be Os only but the more Os positivity the better. I’ll start.

It’s great to have a team in contention. Living and dying by every pitch is why we follow the team. It also, in McNulty’s case, allows you to grow hair on your chest.

:-)

It’s neat that the bar was set so high at 101 wins last year that a measly 18 games over .500 has a lot of us frustrated.

Colton Cowser is a better outfielder than all the other Orioles' outfielders.

Since they traded Hays, that means Mullins is here for the long-haul, or Pache is here to stay.

Eh, whatever. Cowser is the best defensive outfielder the O's have had in a decade.

I'm pretty confident virtually every WS winner treaded water for about a month and still survived, the 2023 Rangers were 14-13 in June and the 2022 Astros...well nvm they were pretty hot the whole year lol but the 2021 Braves were below .500 at the end of July, etc, you don't win the WS by having 6 months of perfect baseball, you just need 6 months of good enough baseball to get there

Ryan O'Hearn is a professional hitter cut out of the mold of Terry Crowley, Jim Dwyer, etc.

(These are left handed hitters from the Orioles past that could rake for the youngsters on the board.)

I played in a poker tournament last night. Turned $40 into first place and $180 cash out. Made me forget all about the ...oh never mind this is positive only.

I am all about maple bars. My winter home has a really small donut shop run by some Vietnamese folks. They make the crazy best maple twists I have EVER eaten in my life. Can't wait to get back down there and get me some Grammy's Donuts!!!! Super people and even better donuts. The Apple Fritter is pretty ok too.

I just saw the all time best positive only thing. Olympic basketball. Watched the end of the US game and right before it was over they were showing the live standings. In the US group they showed South Sudan with 2 points and Puerto Rico with 1 point and the US and Serbia with 0.

Now the US and Serbia made sense since this was their first game and it wasn't over yet. But I couldn't for the life of me figure out how Puerto Rico had 1 point. Then they showed how the standings work. You get 2 points for a win and 1 point for a loss. So you never are blanked in the standings....participation trophy at its finest. Too funny.

Lol, I saw that also. Like why not just give 1 point for a win and 0 for a loss?

I saw somewhere that it's to prevent someone gaming the system by forfeiting (which is 0 points) since point differential is a tiebreaker and FIBA forfeits are 20-0 by rule. Probably will never matter, but I guess it makes some sense. Could probably just have a rule that you can't advance if you forfeit.
