I saw somewhere that it's to prevent someone gaming the system by forfeiting (which is 0 points) since point differential is a tiebreaker and FIBA forfeits are 20-0 by rule. Probably will never matter, but I guess it makes some sense. Could probably just have a rule that you can't advance if you forfeit.
Explain please? Forfeiting is a loss and opponent gets a win. How can you game this?

If a forfeit is recorded as a 20 points to 0 points loss and point differential is a tie-breaker. If you know that all you need to do is not lose the game by more than 20 to advance, if forfeits counted the same as a loss then you could forfeit rather than play. If forfeits are worse than a normal loss, there is less (but not no) opportunity for that tactic to be a benefit.

You’re doing it right man. Happy for you. That’s awesome.
My 5 y/o is watching the game with me, I'm trying to explain things to him. He keeps calling the Padres the "Spanish Daddy's" because that was the best explanation I could come up with.

One of the announcers mentioned a bloody nose bobblehead. Interesting. I wonder what it w/look like. They have to commemorate this in some fashion.

Friggin' genius. Ketchup comes out the nostrils. You should trademark or patent this, whatever...

Anything can happen in the playoffs.
Getting Westburg, GRod, and Coulombe back will be huge.

Agreed. Delete. Do it now.
Not the point of the thread. We want zero negative energy. Even if it’s funny
