A Dirty Sanchez?
Yes, the pun was intended. Thanks for asking!

I missed just about the entire game (caught from the top of the sixth to the top of the eighth) due to work-related matters. I actually heard about the Delmon Young hit from one of my co-workers who, over the phone, yelled "OhshitohshitohshitDELMONYOUNG! THREE RUNS!"

We figured Sanchez was behind Verlander and were hoping we could get to him early enough to keep him from pitching the 8th. Worked out just right, though Sanchez should have been back out to at least start the 8th.
Oh, and an absolutely atrocious send of Cabrera with no outs in the top of the 8th. That was a Dickersonesqe send.

The Sun has this photo on Facebook (I found it shared by Seth). See if you can find the person less excited than Alex Avila:

I'm exhausted and can barely speak.
Definitely. But I still haven't come down from that. Simply Unreal.

I'm so jealous of you all who got to be there. It was exciting enough here in Telford.
God bless Brad Ausmus and his idiotic handling of pitchers.

To be fair, I'm on the edge of suicide every game.

A little devil's advocate....
The popular sentiment in the aftermath of the game is bashing Ausmus for pulling Sanchez after 2 innings and 30 pitches. Obviously, given the results and the poor performances of the guys that followed, it's a very valid stance. However, given where Sanchez with his injury recovery and stamina (I think he'd thrown 1 inning in the last 7-8 weeks), why is it assumed that he would continue at a high level for another inning? Sanchez could've just as easily hit the wall in the 8th inning.

Sure...but you send him out there anyway.
Any sign of trouble, you can pull him.

I hear you, it's a very logical stance and for all intents and purposes correct.
There's also a view that with a 3 run lead you have an opportunity to give Chamberlain a chance to right the ship and restore his confidence, which could in turn bode well for the remainder of the series. There's also the whole starting a clean inning thing that both managers and relievers seem to like.
Or, it could just be that a rookie manager got the proverbial lump, managed "by the book" and held fast to bullpen roles.

Well, whatever it was, I hope he does the same damn thing again tomorrow
