In recent days, they zeroed in on the Tigers, even sending injured catcher Matt Wieters to Detroit to help scout the final two games of the regular season.

That's pretty cool.
It'll definitely be Scherzer on Thursday. Maybe not official yet, but that's happening. Price pitched yesterday, so he probably goes Game 2.

Scherzer's been human recently. Last 7 starts going back to August 24th he's got a 3.45 ERA, averaging 6 1/3 IP, 9.5 K/9, 2.8 BB/9, 706 OPS-against. Plus 3 unearned runs that make his total RA 4.06.
Price's time in Detroit has been weird. He's either been amazing or terrible in his 11 starts. He's had 2 starts where he gave up 3 runs in 8.2 IP. He's got 5 other starts where he went at least 7 IP and gave up 0 or 1 ER. In the other 4 starts, he's got 3 rocky ones (6 IP 4 ER, 8.2 IP 5 ER, and 5.2 IP 5 ER) and one godawful one (2 IP 8 ER).
Gonna likely be tough sledding against those guys, but if we can get 2-3 runs across through 6-7 against them, hopefully Tillman and Gonzo can hold down their bats and we can tack on more against their bullpen. A big defensive blunder could also really help us out, as they are awful defensively.

Any updates on Rajai Davis?

I had no idea he had gotten hurt.
Tigers outfielder Rajai Davis, who left Saturday's game with a Grade 1 pubic symphysis sprain, is not in the lineup today. Head trainer Kevin Rand was not yet ready to declare Davis day-to-day.
Pubic symphysis sounds like something you catch at a porn theater.
If he's out, that makes their lineup weaker and he represents most of their speed. Their backup CF, Carrera, is probably a slight upgrade defensively, though. Davis isn't a very good CF despite his speed.

Davis is an Oriole killer, right Ricker?
Not anymore. Trying to think positive. Eff Rajai Davis. I hope his pubic sprain prevents him from having all of the sex.

Haha it's a healthy hate...my one friend, god knows why, has hated Endy Chavez since he entered the league in 2001. He, nor any of our group, understand the cause of his irrational hatred.

I know a surprising number of people who don't like Cal.

When I kept hearing that he wouldn't move to 3rd when Davey asked him to... and that the clubhouse wound up divided into the Cal camp and the Davey camp, well, I figured 2 things: (1) Davey wasn't gonna last long, and (2) Cal wasn't quite the guy I thought he was before that...

I've always thought that the issue wasn't that he wouldn't move, it was that he wouldn't move for Manny Alexander. Once Bordick got there he was OK with it.
By the way, apparently Alexander was a multiple-time Top-100 prospect by BA. How is that possible?

There's that classic clip of Manny replacing Cal in a game, and going to sit next to him on the bench, and Cal completely ignoring him.
Didn't ever bother me, guy wanted to play, how could anyone fault that? I'm a workaholic too, I go 7 days a week, I get it.

I'm hearing 530 for Thursday and early game, possibly 1 or 4, for Friday.
