The street closures are probably going to be bad news for the O's, too, at least for weeknight games.

Yeah, don't want to get political, except that I don't think it should be political... I would think it would be completely obvious that we should be fixing and updating our infrastructure. It would give people jobs, make people's lives better by reducing events like this. It just seems like the kind of think everybody would be in favor of.
Yeah it was within the last 10 or so years when I realized everything is political, or can be made political.
People can blast cities like Baltimore, say they suck, they don't want to live there or what not, and money should be spent elsewhere for whatever reason, but...people do live there and should be taken care of as such. The infrastructure is literally crumbling. And not just in the city but all over the country.
Spending tax money on this kind of thing isn't wasteful, it's investing in the country, and the people.

That would turn out horribly imo.
Maybe...certainly could see that being the case.
My guess is horribly has different definitions for you and me though.

Obviously we would have different priorities on spending, but I'm mostly talking about it not working out because budgets don't work when millions of individual people are individually deciding how money should be spent. You'll end up with certain things getting way too much money and other things not getting as much money as it needs.

Yea..I’m sure you and I wouldn’t agree on many things in terms of programs that should or shouldn’t be funded at a certain level but I do agree that it would be a risky thing.

Yeah, what would happen if everyone without school-age children decided that their taxes shouldn't go toward schools? That would probably be bad.

We would have the same cluster we do now?
Overcrowding, poor facilities in certain areas, no new schools built where needed, etc...?

RIP Rams Head in Baltimore
I must've seen 50-60 shows over the 20+ years they were in business. However, I went perhaps only once in the past 5 or so years. I think they got squeezed out by IMP booking like-sized venues south in and around DC metro and LiveNation / Fillmore in Silver Spring.
I struggle to think of a worse venue in terms of sight lines and well, acoustics. That place may have a lot of good memories, but that's because of who you were with and the rarity of seeing whatever band you caught that night. Cuz that venue sucks.

Saw probably 8-10 shows there. Mostly cover bands. It wasn’t great by any means but it was nice to drive to Baltimore to see those bands vs going to DC.
Like I said, I hold a lot great memories of bands there just the same, but what's ironic is whenever Power Plant would hold an outdoor show (basically out in front of the Rams Head Live venue)? The acoustics were so much better.

Saw Cypress Hill at Rams Head Live....this was when they were well past their peak, but before they had reached geezer tour territory. My GF and I ended up getting there pretty early and grabbed a couple stools at the bar just off to the side of the stage. Ended up sitting next to a rep from Miller Brewing Co. (who were one of the sponsors) and he was there from Chicago to get feedback on the show. Struck up a long conversation with him....really cool guy with what seemed like an awesome job, and he actually paid our bar tab at the end of the show, despite the fact we weren't even drinking Miller.

For sure, definitely wasn't his personal card.

Apparently the Rams Head group sold Rams Head Live to AEG back in 2015, but they kept the Rams Head name because of brand recognition. So Rams Head has no control over Rams Head Live closing.
