Preseason 1: 8/7 Ravens vs. SF 7:30pm

I'm curious what people will be watching for. Things I'll be trying to keep an eye on other than the obvious stuff...Wagner, ZBS, Brown vs Jackson, FS, KO's health etc. That stuff matters of course, but these will all be covered ad naseum by the press.
1. Pernell McPhee. He's really getting talked up. If he can come in and do what Upshaw was supposed to do, he'd be a great role player for this team. He's got a shot to step into a long line of role players at the LB level for the Ravens that thrive in this system.
2. Arthur Brown. Can he separate himself? I'm hoping the Ravens do more with him in this game. I'm curious to see if he's given a chance to show his ability to diagnose and utilize the whole playbook.
3. Marlon Brown. He's been taking a lot of heat this offseason what seems to be him regressing in his hands and route running. He should get plenty of looks in the game to see.
4. Shipley vs Gradkowski. I'm curious if both guys end up staying on the OD roster. I'm also curious what the Ravens want to see from them. Should be interesting to see them both play in the ZBS for the second team though.
5. Special Teams. Do any guys stand out? Can Brooks handle his own? What does that mean for Trawick/Miles and company. Ditto for the last receiver spot competitors (Butler, Aiken, Campanaro) and even Marlon Brown to some extent.

From a skill position stand point, I'm also interested to see Taliaferro and Crockett. There's not a lot of tape out there on these guys, and who knows how they face a much more serious set of competitors from what they have been used to.
It's been a really quiet front on Elam and Brandon Williams too. I don't particularly like that...
This isn't really relevant at this point either, but I'm just really excited about Baltimore sports right now. Got tickets to two O's game this weekend, we get pre-season football. Just a flat out exciting time. I have really good feelings (perhaps bleeding over from the O's) about this year's Ravens team.

Am I a bad fan if I likely watch 5 minutes of this game?
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

No, it makes you a better O's fan. There is no excuse to watch a pre season game over an O's game right now given what the O's are trying to accomplish this season.

Am I a bad fan if I were to likely watch five minutes of this game even if the O's were 30 games under .500?

The old joke about two meaningless games is long gone (well three years).

I can't say I have any interest in this game or any other preseason game. Yes I know the O's game will get killed in the ratings. If the O's weren't playing I'd get the interest a bit more, but if you like both teams, I think watching the "meaningful" game is a better use of your time.
