Does MASN have any actual programming that anyone would watch besides the O's/Nationals games? I always feel like I'm watching 1990's HTS when I flip through the channels and land on MASN.
Looking at the programming guide, a show called Follow the Money is on right now. How riveting. And appropriate for a network owned by the Angelos family. You should be glued to your TV right now.

I'm curious at how many viewers MASN has at any given time when baseball isn't on. I'd venture to say probably under 100.

And that's probably only in bars during the season because the staff is too lazy to change the channel.
Aside from that, apparently Follow the Money is quite a popular crime-thriller series in Denmark...so maybe some ingenious people with a VPN are streaming it over there.

MASN could fill up the whole offseason with daily Os podcasters. Including the OTV guys. I guess Nats podcasters for that team too. Boo. That content during the day would be much better and on point vs what they do now
They have missed so many chances to make MASN a real sports channel and I am guessing it is because they do not want to pay.

It's also because people like that might actually be honest.

Given how they've handled MASN since it launched, I think it was formed to serve a single purpose. Retain as much control of the market as they possibly can.
They invested the bare minimum to get it up and running. Someone mentioned how far behind the times they were in offering HD. Peter alienated the Ravens, instead of welcoming them. All based on jealousy. That would have provided a wealth of programming during baseball's off-season. And since NFL fans can't get enough football, they could have had Ravens shows all spring-summer long.
Oh well, the list of Angelos shortcomings, flaws and missed opportunities is endless.
Good news! I saw a dog today.

If this is the hearing on the appeal of the 100M settlement, I agree with the Orioles and they should win this one. I've discussed this (and the math) somewhere earlier in this thread. Unless there's something else in the arbitration decision that precludes the above...when you award the Nationals an addition 100M, you have to award the Orioles the same 100M.,,,,that means less money gets shared in the uneven split....so you have to go back and redo ALL of the math. I'm not going to look (or do it again) but it's like 75M instead of 100M.
I you want to know why MLB would want to get rid of the Angelos family, this is still going on.

Of course he is. I maintain Manfred does not give a damn about the Orioles. MLB has been in bed with Washington since Day 1.

Of course. They dont give a crap about the Os or where they play their home games.

The Washington Post has an article about how cord cutting is affecting the viability of RSN's.
It's mostly about the Bally bankruptcy, but there were some MASN numbers in there. According to the article, MASN has 3.3M subscribers, and has a $3.60 per month carrying fee. So, $3.60 x 12 x 3,300,000 = $142,560,000 in annual revenue.
For comparison, in 2018, MASN had 5.6M subscribers.

I'd gladly pay them more than $4 per month but they won't let me. So I use my dad's account and pay them zero.

The crazy thing about the RSN model is that MASN makes the vast majority of its revenue from people who never watch the channel.

I just looked up an old bill and Comcast was charging me $8.25/month for "Regional Sports Fee." I think MASN was the only thing I had that would apply to so that's quite a racket if they are only passing along $3.60.
