I think the Browns would be foolish to dump Mayfield this year. I don't think he's on the "top five" QB path (like Manning, Brady, Brees) but when healthy he's a dangerous second tier solid QB that can flash brighter at times. You can do a lot worse, and unless you have a sure thing lined up, not worth the restart to me. The guy had a pretty serious shoulder injury this year. Even if it was non throwing, you can't assume it was trivial to his performance. Most every throw with the right hand starts with your left shoulder leading, driving, and rotating.

Similar to the Flacco era, one only has to look at all the QBs that came before to realize Mayfield is the best they've had since the Browns returned.

This is the key part to me.  Were I the Browns, I wouldn't dump him without a plan, but I'd be actively looking to upgrade.  I'd have lots of interest in Russel Wilson. :Less in someone like Garapolo, but I do think he'd be an upgrade over Mayfield.

Another ugly game for Burrow and Bengals but they gutted out a win.

If Burrow isn’t healthy, the Bengals aren’t going anywhere.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Bengals are lucky that Sean McVay seemingly had no interest in winning that game from an offensive perspective.  Running game was great in the first two weeks so let's throw non-stop so Stafford takes sacks and throws picks.

#Bengals QB Joe Burrow is out for the year with a torn ligament, per coach Zac Taylor. He had his MRI this morning. Jake Browning, who finished last night, is his backup.
