First Garrett and now Hendrickson. Now all we need is for TJ Watt to request a trade and Lamar can sleep really well at night.

Yeah it's the kind of news that gives division opponents nightmares but then you remember their defense is a rickety old haunted house fence.

44% of your cap to a QB and 2 WR's seems like a bit of a misuse of resources. As good as Higgins is, they probably should have let him roll, or traded him when they could. All that money tied up in 2 WR's won't mean crap if Burrow doesn't get time to find them.
At this point, just spend another 44% of the cap on offensive lineman, and just hope you're the last one with the ball every week.

There was a theory I saw floating around that Tee Higgins changed agents to the same agent Chase uses and he told the Bengals "no Chase deal without Higgins"
I guess Higgins really wants to keep catching balls from Burrow and losing because they can't play defense or block.

On the other side, some teams don't seem to see the big picture like they should, and will give giant chunks of cap space to WRs at the expense of quality and depth at other key positions... and they usually wind up losing more than they win.

They're not particularly close to that percentage right now.44% of your cap to a QB and 2 WR's seems like a bit of a misuse of resources.
They were previously at 1/3 of the cap when accounting for Chase's 5th year option and Higgins on 2nd tag. Both numbers will certainly go down in the first year of their new deals, though I haven't seen those numbers yet. And they can rework Burrow to lower his number further.
Eventually things will balloon and may catch up with them if NFL cap increases don't keep up, but my guess is they just roll it further down the road with restructures.

You sure about that? A quick glance at the top WR contracts shows players that are almost exclusively on decent or good teams. The Bears and DJ Moore are the only big WR deal that hasn't done much winning lately. Lamb and the Cowboys stunk last year, but have been good before that.
