Marvin Lewis fired
They finally took that dog out back.
Amazing he survived there so long. Great coordinator, mediocre coach.

Is he? I mean, I get that he didn’t win in the playoffs but that team was hot garbage for most of its existence and he comes in and routinely takes them to the playoffs, won 10+ games several seasons, etc...

Also gave him less resources (scouting, facilities) than others.
Still, he had 16 years... never won a playoff game. Overall record right around .500.
That's Jeff Fisher without the highs.

Teams were always undisciplined, never won a playoff game....

They also drafted problem players, which may not always be on Marvin.
They still won a lot of games and were far better off with him than anything they have basically seen in the organizations history.

No doubt.

Given the context of the Bengals, it is possible that he's a better HC than he was able to demonstrate there.

Lewis endorsed Hue Jackson to be the next HC!
I'm sold!

Two years ago, top WR prospect John Ross set fire to the Combine with his 40 time. Now, sources say the #Bengals are shopping their former first rounder. A fresh start would be welcome by both parties, sounds like.

Interesting...I think he is similar to John Brown. I am not sure he would fit with Lamar, not that they would trade him here anyway.

Just thinking out loud, but...If I'm the Bengals, with the Ravens reloading, and the Browns looking like monsters...
...why not just dangle AJ Green out there and see what you get?

Because Mike Brown is the owner and he isn't smart?

Green carries a cap number of $15.1 million this season and he's set to become an unrestricted free agent after 2019. He'd be a rather expensive one-year rental for someone, particularly if they don't plan on trying to re-sign him.

Could always franchise him.
I would bet they could still get a second rounder for him.

The non-exclusive tag for wide receivers this year was $16.7 million. That's pretty steep, considering Green would be 32 by that point, and he's had some foot injury issues, which are scary for a receiver.
I'd say Green could fetch a Day 2 selection or two in the draft, so I agree with you there. If Golden Tate could yield a third-rounder at last year's deadline, a second-rounder for Green would be about right.
