I read a lot more on him, watched more tape and got a strong feeling he's going to be a Pro-Bowl-caliber WR for many years to come. He rose quite a ways up my board because of the research, as did Marcus Peters.

Do you see similar things I described? He's obviously a very talented deep threat, no question there. My concern's are about his lack of experience running anything but the go, post, and occassional curl or screen.

Yes, these are valid questions... but as he's said, that's what OSU needed him to do. He did line up far more often in the slot this year, and has such good hands that I suspect he'll adjust quite well. I'd be very happy to see him available at #26. FWIW I believe he'll be a better pro than Torrey Smith.

I think I agree with all of this, it's just tough when you haven't seen it. I definitely agree he will be better than Torrey. The combine will be big for him imo. He needs to show he can do more than run fast linearly.

Yes... much will be gleaned then and I'll either drop him down and sigh, or smile proudly. :P

Bleacher Report (I know, I know) suggests that teams at the top of the draft would prefer Sam Bradford (if released) over Winston or Mariota.   Thoughts?

Both of those guys have valid concerns, but so does Bradford. The thinking must be more along the lines of using that first rounder on another good player instead of sinking it into a qb. Makes sense to me, but I'm not a fan of any of these qbs.

Marcus Mariota QB Oregon
Jameis Winston QB Florida State
Amari Cooper WR Alabama
Randy Gregory Rush Nebraska
Kevin White WR West Virginia
Brandon Scherff OL Iowa
DeVante Parker WR Louisville
Trae Waynes CB Michigan State
Danny Shelton DT Washington
Dorial Green-Beckham WR, Oklahoma
La'el Collins OT LSU
Vic Beasley Rush Clemson
Shane Ray Rush Missouri
Marcus Peters CB Washington
Andrus Peat OT Stanford
Eddie Goldman DT Florida State
Dante Fowler Rush Florida
Bud Dupree Rush Kentucky
Jaelen Strong WR Arizona State
Devin Smith WR Ohio State

No Landon Collins? Kind of curious as to why. I can't see him getting passed up by Washington.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mariota isn't a first round pick when the draft comes around.

Philly would probably prevent that from happening but I just can't believe a team is willing to hand the reigns over to him.

Because he is a safety who struggles with coverage. He brings toughness and playmaking in the box, but that's not where I value safeties. I think he is a fringe first round prospect.

I think he'll go in the top half of the draft, likely top 10, but I don't think he's the 2nd best player in the draft. Thats pretty damn crazy.

This draft is really crappy tbh. The QBs aren't great, but neither is any other position.

Mariota obviously has the tools to be a very good QB. He is mobile, accurate, has decent arm strength. The question is can he transition to a pro-style offense. I see no reason why he can't.

I have Mariota over Winston because he is a better decision maker and has much better accuracy.

Winston is a more prototypical player at the position and is probably more pro-ready. He's going to throw 20+ Ints a year though even if he makes 2-3 throws a game that wow you.

Winston is the much better pro prospect from purely a  skill perspective.

Ok. That's fine for your rankings. But in your mock I don't believe I saw him going in your first round. That's simply not going to happen. I would bet good money he's gone on day one. Most likely to Chicago or Washington near the top of the draft.

I don't think he goes in the top 10, but I certainly could be wrong about that.

I wouldn't say much better. Winston has some pretty big issues as well.

I'm not big on either Mariota or Winston. Mariota's best shot is Chip Kelly trading the farm for him. If he ends up there he'll be fine.

As for Collins, he fits both D.C.and Chicago's biggest needs. I just don't see either passing if he's there.

Just because they have a need doesn't mean they should reach for a player who isn't worthy of a high pick. If he was a better peospect, I could see it happening but it is incredibly rare for a safety to go that high, especially a safety that isn't a can't miss prospect.
