It looks like the Patriots are working a trade of their first round pick for an under-inflated ball.

Like thousands of other draftniks, I thought it would be cool to try my hand at my first 2015 NFL Draft. This forum could be used to share BSL posters' best efforts, rather than mixing them in with nationally-recognized guys, but whatever the mods think is fine.
I'll fill mine in shortly, but here's a template for the first round:

I'm just going to stick to the first round for now. I'll probably post a 2 or 3 round mock after the combine and Free Agency.
1. Tampa Bay - Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
2. Tennessee - Leonard Williams, DT, USC
3. Jacksonville - Randy Gregory, DE, Nebraska
4. Oakland - Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama
5. Washington - Brandon Scherff, OL, Iowa
6. NYJ - Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
7. Chicago - Vic Beasley, DE/OLB, Clemson
8. Atlanta - Shane Ray, DE/OLB, Missouri
9. NYG - Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State
10. St. Louis - Kevin White, WR, West Virginia
11. Minnesota - Danny Shelton, DT, Washington
12. Cleveland - DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville
13. New Orleans - Dante Fowler, OLB, Florida
14. Miami - Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford
15. San Francisco - Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma
16. Houston - Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota
17. San Diego - La'el Collins, OT, LSU
18. Kansas City - Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State
19. Cleveland - Jordan Phillips, DT, Oklahoma
20. Philadelphia - Marcus Peters, CB, Washington
21. Cincinatti - Bud Dupree, DE, Kentucky
22. Pittsburgh - P.J. Williams, CB, Florida State
23. Detroit - Malcom Brown, DT, Texas
24. Arizona - Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
25. Carolina - Sammy Coates, WR, Auburn
26. Baltimore - Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona St.
27. Dallas - Shaq Thompson, LB, Washington
28. Denver - T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh
29. Indianapolis - Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE/OLB, UCLA
30. Green Bay - Eric Kendricks - LB, UCLA
31. Seattle - Devin Funchess, WR, Michigan
32. New England - Eli Harold, OLB, Virginia
That was actually really hard. After about the first 12-15 players there is a definite dearth of talent. The combine will help clarify some things and Free Agency will make team needs more apparent. It will be interesting to see how this changes.

Agreed... a tough draft to mock, at this juncture. With that said, I'd be VERY surprised to see Winston drop to #6, but his character concerns are real and while doubtful they could sway Tampa from taking him at #1.
Typically I view teams picking at the very top as years away from contention, and unless there is a "can't miss" franchise QB available I would deal down, add more picks and build a team capable of supporting a young QB. Using the Browns as the example of a trade partner that does view Winston or Mariota as that guy, I'd rather pick 12, 19, 43, 77 and a #2 in the next draft than keep #1 overall.
Regarding your other picks... I suspect Gregory will drop a bit, as his tape is less impressive than his talent. Beasley going that high would surprise me as well. Jordan Phillips would have to really persuade teams that his lackadaisical attitude is behind him to go that high. His potential is great, but guys like him, guys that don't love the game, usually fail to live up to their potential. Of course, all it takes is one team that thinks he can turn it on and viola'... 1st rounder. There ARE a lot of "dumb" teams in the NFL. LOL

I think Winston could go as high as #1 or #2, but if he doesn't go that high he likely slips to #6 because the other teams just don't need a QB. Tennessee is the real question mark for me. How comfortable ate they with Mettenberger? If they think he can be a starting QB, there is no way they pass on a talent like Leonard Williams. TB absolutely needs a QB so they will take either Mariota or Winston. The team I could see trading down is Washington. I'm not that sold on this class of pass-rushers and while they need OL help, I think it's a bit too early for this class of OTs.
Regarding the pass-rushers, I think Beasley has the most pure ability to get after the QB. He has an electric first step and enough bend to get past quality OTs. His biggest issue is lack of size, but I don't see it as a major concern like some do.
Gregory is kind of the opposite of Beasley as he has elite size and length, but lacks the speed to consistently win iff the edge. He is more of a technician who uses strength, hand-usage, and leverage to win.
I see that you are extremely high on Devin Smith. Why is that? Personally, I like him a good deal and I think he could be a potential first round target for the Ravens. He has elite speed to go along with good hands and a rare ability to track deep balls exceptionally well. However, his ability to do anything other than get deep is a question mark to me. I think he has the necessary traits to become a more well-rounded receiver but it will take some time for him to develop.

I read a lot more on him, watched more tape and got a strong feeling he's going to be a Pro-Bowl-caliber WR for many years to come. He rose quite a ways up my board because of the research, as did Marcus Peters.
