Incredible run! Now to take down Gagne..... yeah probably not. Sad to see that he will go but it's best for the future of the club.

Uggh, if his knee had been bothering him why not DL him. Of corurse that's gonna mess with his delivery/mechanics. Totally not worth messing him up for next year.

So glad we kept him when he could have been dealt for a truckload of talent!

Apparently he has been dealing with this injury since 2014.
Not sure if it's worse now or what.
He said that in Steve's article..
“Gosh, I’ve probably had it since 2014,” Britton explained. “I got my cleats stuck one time in Toronto in their turf. And it is something that was kind of bothering me. I think I’ve pitched through it the last three or four years. He kind of wants to me to get it checked out. The doctor, Dr. (Michael) Jacobs. I was kind of pushing it off but they said, ‘Let’s just look at it.’ It is not something that is going to prevent me from going to Boston with the team.
“He was just wants to see where it’s at. If there is anything that needs to get cleaned up maybe. Use this time to do that. I don’t think it’s anything serious, otherwise I would not be able to pitch on it. But I’ll do that tomorrow and we’ll find out.”

Meh. This is kind of weak. Blow your streak and immediately you've got this knee thing to go check out. If he had converted yesterday would they be checking it out. I'm not saying he's making it up but it's convenient.
Not going to lie but I thought the same thing.

I hear you guys. But I wonder if its the combination of the shoulder AND the knee problem that has caused his regression this year? Perhaps the knee wasn't that big a deal until it was compounded by the shoulder issue and the two together have his mechanics messed and or movement messed up.

Nope, not even close.
Exactly. If Moran was the best player coming back from the Astros, why even talk about it. That would have been a terrible deal. Nothing that changes the organization in there.

Awesome. Britton re-injured. Another MRI tomorrow. Says himself he will need at least 2 months to rest. Zero chance he's tradeable now.

Balt Baseball: Zach Britton to have a stem-cell injection in knee Thursday; likely done for rest of 2017
http://www.baltimore...done-rest-2017/
Orioles team physician Dr. Michael Jacobs suggested that Britton get the procedure now and, with rest, should be fine to begin his regular workout program this offseason. Surgery has been ruled out at this point.
“Not anything that needs to be operated on, which is the good news. I thought maybe that was something that might have to be done in the offseason,” Britton said Thursday night. “I spoke with Dr. Jacobs through my exit MRI that I had today, (it’s) something we were gonna do anyway. And he just felt like it was in the team’s and my best interest to maybe try to get the recovery process going on this right now. So that’s what we’re going to do.”
Orioles manager Buck Showalter left open the possibility that Britton could return before the season ends Oct. 1.
“The plan is do (the stem-cell injection) now and then see where we are in three to five days on a lot of different fronts,” Showalter said. “We’ll see how he is physically and where we are as a team.”
