And Weaver won't hurt himself with walks either.

Not that we'd take them.

When does he get DFA'd and they call up Antonelli ( >.450 OBP at AAA)

When we were doing the projected rosters all Winter, I thought Antonelli would make the team. (I figured they would come to a deal with the Cubs for Flaherty.) Not sure I see him getting the call anytime soon though. (Unless Reynolds is moved.)

Arrieta gets his 2nd k of the inning with a high strike to Trumbo.

Presumably you have Johnson because of his OBP prowess. Thus far his OBP is .125 in 22 PAs.
If you're looking for a guy to take walks, Antonelli is at .454 despite a .250 AVG.
Plus Antonelli is more versatile in that he knows what a glove is.

Just sayin'

Yeah, I agree. I made a similar argument for Antonelli over Johnson in the last weeks of Spring. I don't think the O's agree though, and I think they will give Johnson extended time.

I think Antonelli should have made the team, by working out a trade with the Cubs for Flaherty's rights.

Or by trading Andino to a team who saw him as a starting SS.

Nice hearing about multiple players taking extra bp.

Know Monday is an off day after a long trip.... would be nice to hear them come out early Tuesday for some fielding.

Andino flies out to end the O's 3rd.

This would have helped (working a trade for Flaherty)... O's need to use Flaherty more, if they are going to have him on the roster.

It's good to see Duquette moving some of the dead weight though. Hopefully Gregg is next. Maybe then Reynolds (I'm indifferent to that really).

I like taking chances on other org's castoffs by getting rid of your own. Grass is always greener.

I'm pretty excited by what we have seen from Arrieta so far this year.

The problem is, not enough teams view him as a starter. He certainly has earned the right to start but not enough teams see it that way.

Hate to be that guy but we got Andino for Hayden Penn so if he's not an asset we can trade him for $.50 on the dollar and still make out like bandits.

If Arrieta can consistently be the pitcher we've seen his his first 3 starts, and so far tonight; his ceiling is very high.

Aybar grounds out to Davis, ending the LA 3rd.

There's some truth to this. There were some articles this year (from Roch, maybe?) that said some teams had contacted Duquette asking about Andino. Those teams viewed him as a starting SS.

I think that woulda been selling high. But, who knows.

I'm a bigger fan of Reynolds than most, but if the O's want to be done (and we've seen the reports from Stark, and Knobler), than get it done and move on.

Seems like you would want his bat to heat up at-least before you moved him though.
