I've been thinking about signing up for the Baltimore Banner. Does anyone subscribe to it? Is it worth the money?

I like it (mostly for non sports stuff). I believe you can do a really cheap trial run to see if it's worth it to you.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Looks like they have an introductory subscription that costs $1 for 6 months, so I may check it out.

Tomorrow is Connolly's last day at The Athletic.
It was a nice touch that he apologized for making such an announcement on Flag Day.

With the way they're cutting local sports reporting, I'm going to have to seriously think about getting rid of The Athletic.

Very good. Former Sun guys Andy Kostka and Jon Meoli are a great 1-2 punch when it comes to the O's.

This is more or less how I feel, too:
The O's coverage on The Athletic usually seemed a bit lacking on the day-to-day, more in-depth player/org analysis than what the newspaper beats offer. But the features and owner/MASN criticisms were solid. Less coverage is never good
I saw this yesterday.
I'm not sure what the hell The NYT is doing with The Athletic. I've had a sub to NYT going on 15 years, but I also subscribed to The Athletic when it first started. When NYT bought The Athletic, I was able to cancel my sub because my NYT sub now "included it." The price for my NYT digital sub didn't go up at all. In fact, while I was working on my masters degree I was able to talk the NYT down to $6.36/mo for the entire digital presence (a few years ago).

I think it's economics. It's likely they're not making money with the huge staff of writers the original owners threw a pile of cash at in the early days to lure them away from struggling newspapers. So NYT is gradually slashing the local coverage (particularly in smaller markets) and going with more of a national focus.

Tried listening to agame on the radio recently. It was Garceau and Newman, think I lasted 5 minutes before turning it off.
They’re both very bad

The Angelos's have always been accomodating to f'ing Sox fans.
JLC literally used to be a Red Sox fan I don’t get it

Nice as it is to see Devo again, he didn’t seem to add much to the broadcasts I watched. Maybe he’ll grow into it, but it felt more like a “let’s visit with an old friend” sort of thing.

He wasn't good but it felt like he did not know when to jump in. I noticed today, Ben and Brown were setting him up with topics.

I actually thought he did a little better today. I am sure he was nervous.
