OldFan successfully predicted that Hayden Penn would not be a good pitcher because of his name.

That's the ultimate OldFan story.

Maybe OF did that too, but I'm quite sure it was a different guy who said that.  I trolled him hard.  JJLynn I think was his handle.

Sorry, but it's hard to remember anything else about OldFan after his epic viagra thread. Still the best thread ever.

Not sure how many other people weren't OH posters like myself, but I always find myself out of the loop on these type of things.

Yea, it was something like that.

Wow, what a dumb comment that was.

You know, I have never read any posts in this thread.

This post from Miller is the greatest:

God, I'm going to love this thread.

LOL, that was great - but ChaosLex and LJ's posts were hilarious too... "Dear God..." and "Why did I open this thread?"

Freakin' great. And it only gets better.

Even if you tilt the odds in your favor but things don't pan out, there's always masturbation. I certainly have never done it but people say it's a good way to get rid of your boner.

smile.gifMy wife could drink a whole bottle of wine and I still wouldn't look good and she'd have a wine headache!laughlol.gif If she drank vodka she'd really get sick.

Not to change the course of this thread but anybody ever tried that 36 hour Cialis? That sounds like it would give you more of a window of opportunity but it probably costs a fortune right?

I remember Tony saying that OldFan could never be banned because of this thread.  LOL

My favorite was the Gurgi thread.  Milligan was genuinely livid that he didn't understand what he was trying to say.

SG and Shack was always great.  I always assumed Shack had a kid like SG and SG's dad is like Shack and that's why they hated each other so much.

Oh no...My dad was nothing like that.  He was normal.  :)

I probably don't have the best recollection of some his better disputes, because when I see things devolving into pissing matches I usually just glaze over them.

But there is one post that has stuck in my mind that SG made. Someone - I believe it was RShack but can't be sure - got on him about why he was always talking about talent, why he was so obsessed with it, etc.

SG's response was "Talent is pretty important. Helps you win baseball games."

I don't know why, but I got quite a chuckle out of that.

If we were able to talk RShack into it, this thread would be 10 pages by noon. He has quite a number of stories he could share, lol.
And each story would be 3,000 words even if just describing a 500 word exchange.

I'll let Weber get into the specifics but I remember SG told him to go plant some trees. I got a kick out of that.

I believe I was told to hug a tree or was just called a tree hugger, which is not a negative thing to be called IMO. I don't even recall the context.

God almighty I remember that OldFan thread.  That was one of my favorites.

That Gurgi thread had me falling out of my chair though.

I don't know how some of you guys liked RShack.  I mean, I'm sure he's a great guy and all, but his message board personality is terrible.

So is this basically the first BSL "roast" in history?

Well, if it was...I guess I am a logical first candidate.

Although our fearless leader, Mr Stoner, had some doozies over on OH as well.  LOL

The Cerrano and Ricker fight last night got the response out of me about Rob being relatively even tempered at BSL compared to OH. I want to hear some of the epic SG moments retold in this thread. Whether they be personal exchanges between you and him or other moments.

I'll start with a story from the '09 Ravens season. I was complaining about the decision to not resign Stover and go with an inexperienced rookie from before training camp. By the time Hauschka blew the kick in Minn that would have won the game I was livid. I remember that night Rob and I got into it again on the Stover subject. I can't remember the exact exchange but he called me an idiot and I blew a gasket. I wrote a post that would have put anything I've said on this site to shame. The ironic thing is I don't think Rob ever saw it. It was taken down really quickly and it resulted in my first 2 or 3 infractions on that site after 5-6 years. I know ChaosLex saw it because he made a post about it.  He might remember the whole thing better than me.

Anyway, go ahead with some more SG stories. The truth is I probably missed half of them because the Orioles board over there got so cluttered and I skipped a lot of threads.

BTW.....Rob, we do it because we love you and because the legacy of Sports Guy will never die.

Oh man, I remember one time you and Rob teamed up against me on the Ravens board. I think I posted something like "this game is over" halfway through the 4th quarter of a game with a division rival and you told me to "shut the f*** up." Obviously, you cleaned it up for OH. Rob, in turn, quoted you and applauded your comment.

For the record, I think we did end up losing that game. :)

Bastards. ;)

That's interesting since Nickle is the BSL co-captain of negatively calling games over.
