Way to go after Davis and get him.

There are more positives than negatives so far from Matusz, but it is irritating hoping for him to find his mechanics.

Rasmus pops out to Markakis.

Overall, he's pitched well; but it's been a mixed bag. His inconsistency with his mechanics has prevented him from truly settling in and pitching a great game today. I'll take it though, hopefully he can give us 2 more innings, that would be a good outing.

Yep, have to start somewhere. Right now he is the 4th starter. If he can get his legs under him, while keeping the O's in games every 5th day; I'm fine with that for now. As the year progresses, you will want to see more.

Paulino singles up the middle, leading off the O's 5th.

I agree. I think having 4 or 5 workmanlike performances to start the season would be huge for BMat, as I think most of his issues are between his ears. I think proving to himself that he is "back" is one of the steps to him taking that next step.

Basehit down the line by Chavez here would be nice.

Chavez bounces back to Drabek, hits into a double play. I thought the play would be closer at 1st.

Bottom of the 5th coming up.

A quick, strong inning from Matusz is important here.

Matusz needs to get Mathis here to start the inning. Down 3-0.

Makes up for it with a double play off the bat of Escobar. 2 out.

That was a fantastic pitch to Flaherty from Dino, and a great scoup from Davis to complete that DP there. Nice location by Matusz to induce the ground ball.

Well that's a good way of making up for the walk.

Matusz k's Johnson for the 2nd time. Johnson looks lost against him.

Going to the 6th... tied at 1.

Nice bounce back from Matusz after the lead off walk. He's thrown 77 pitches through 5.
