Sounds like an argument in favor of going for 7.

It can be interpreted that way I suppose..but if Gb was hitting in all cylinders and it is looking you must score TDs, then you go for it.

Since they weren't and points looked like they could be at a premium, you take the points.

Oh...and that's the way the game turned out too...as it appeared it was at that point in the game.

Momentum is pretty overrated IMO. That's all.

Exactly what I was going to say.

The Ravens aren't doing anything, so they need to take advantage and get the most points they can. If they run a decent playcall they probably score.

The Packers aren't doing anything, so if the Ravens fail to take advantage it is likely they get the ball back in position for another chance to score right away.

Yes...and 3 was the most they were going to get.

Well, my issue there more than anything, was that 0 was basically guaranteed given our goal line approach there.

That's a separate issue, though. The strategy can be sound while the tactics are poor.

So, you think they definitely fail if they run to the other side? If they run a bootleg? A screen pass to Rice? A fade to Clark?

I hear ya. I think in football, the two can be very closely mirrored at times, though. Again, we all knew what was coming - and I reiterate - that is why I wasn't in favor of the strategy. If I had faith in the tactics, that changes things in a big way obviously. I get your point though.

They weren't going to, so it doesn't matter.

However, I think their chances of failure were extremely high regardless....again, game situation matters...part of that is what is your team doing.

Outside of 2 big plays, they had gained around 20 yards on 17 plays.

I see what you're saying (and most of Rob and Nickle, too). I just think you can separate the two, and since even a small change in the tactics would likely have created a change in the result, you don't change the strategy.

I miss Dennis Pitta.

People can talk Boldin all they want.

Birk(surprisingly) and Pitta are easily bigger losses.

Caldwell needs to attack the middle of the field more too btw.

This team needs to figure out how to run the ball.

Today, GB ran a toss sweep where they got a convoy of lineman in front of Lacy...we never do anything like that.

Gb ran out of pass formations...out of a spread field formation, etc...

The Ravens aren't doing that.

They want to run behind Yanda I guess but Gino is so bad, that you can't do that.

They bring Wagner in to run a jumbo package but when you telegraph it, it's easy to defend.

Oh and btw...this Oline isn't good but our RBs suck right now...they look terrible.

Ahh well...

Hope the Ravens have already turned the page towards Pittsburgh.  Steelers will feel good after their win today. Home game against their rival, the defending champs... will mean something to them (and us) like it always does.

Get the win... go to the bye 4-3, and make adjustments for the stretch.

Pitt is right back in the division race if they win next week.

Really wish they had lost today.

They are both hurt.

Maybe..they have looked awful all year though.

I don't buy that they are that hurt.

I do. The line isn't opening up holes, but neither has any burst.  Even when they get the ball in some space as a receiver, they can't hit the 2nd level. Indication to me they are running on blown tires.

We will see how they look after the bye.

Me neither, though I wouldn't be shocked if that turned out to be the case.

The line just isn't playing well, and it's obvious it wasn't just McKinnie.

What was their excuse early in the season for looking awful?

Oh, I'm sure they have some issues...I don't doubt that.

But they look AWFUL....I don't think they both are hurt so bad to the point where they look awful.

And the ravens not adding a third back tells me they are both relatively ok as well.
