NBC praying the US scores two goals next period (with Canada scoring none) -- can't imagine the ratings at 7 AM if the US is a non-factor.

3rd period about to begin.

This is rather easily the most lop sided, boring 1-0 hockey game I've ever seen. So disappointing.
Yet, what makes hockey so great is that the US are still just a goal away from tying it.
Time is running out.

Canada had a few more chances right there.

Hockey is funny. Is it a good game or a bad game because it's 1-0?
This is one of those stalemate-type games, where one sloppy mistake decides the entire thing.

Just imagine if there weren't flags on the front of the jerseys -- how many would watch this kind of game. After the Canadian women scored two goals in less than 4 minutes, I have a hard time saying time is running out right now.

Depends on the outcome.
This really isn't a good game. It's felt like Canada has been on a power play about 80% of the time.

You can still have close bad games. Just because it's a close game doesn't.mean it's compelling IMO

If we can't win can we at least beat the crap out of Crosby?

Bylsma probably has strict orders for the guys not to touch Crosby.

When do you think they'll pull the goalie if the score holds?

Now Canada on the PP, this could be the beginning of the end for the US.

Right, but it seems that's how people judge hockey, if it's compelling or not, which 1-0 games don't tend to be.
I just think everyone (including myself) appreciates offense, but has no interest in watching the little battles, defense, etc.
It's actually been a real back and forth game, just kinda boring.

Yeah I agree, Americans generally want more scoring. But a pitchers duel can be exciting too. I was talking about all sports.

Hell yeah Carlson. That is a signature play if the US finds a way to tie it.
