Probably not the best time to be working on it.  Should wait until he's pitching well so we're feeling a bit more magnanimous towards him.

Haha, true... see SG's sugestion. KIKS. LOL.

Yeah, I'm not sure he deserves a MIMS'esque nickname quite yet. We'll see.

So glad to continue to see Markakis in the 5-hole.  Perfect lineup construction.

He's worth less WAR than MW.

In his 19 regular season starts in August/September/October between last year and this year, Chen is 4-9 with a 5.20 ERA.

Not saying it's worth a whole lot at this point, but it's he's 2 for 2 now in terms of really struggling towards the end of the season.

MIMS has .1 bWAR; Chen 1.5 bWAR... and Chen missed some time with the oblique.

I sense a hint of sarcasm...;-)

MIMS = 2.0 fWAR; Chen 1.8 fWAR. Man, BBRef and Fangraphs is drastically different with Wieters there.

If another guy reaches, the long man needs to start stretching and getting loose.  Not throwing yet, but get ready to get ready.

Nice to see that Chen is already doing his best to drive everyone to drinking as early as possible tonight.

I remember someone on here suggesting it but seriously Chen needs to spend all offseason working with Brady so he doesn't wilter in August/September.  It's just sad.

Lemme get two claps and a Ric Flair

Or report to Sarasota in April and to the O's in May. We can't have one of our best arms be this bad in September. But it's a causation correlation thing. It's hard to say yet that it's because he's worn down. He missed over a month with the oblique, so he's pitched less innings than last year anyway. It could just be that the book is out on him even more, and he needs to re-adjust again.

Nice double play. Hopefully that gets Chen on a little bit of a role here. He threw 15 pitches in the 2nd, up to 36 for the night.
