I go back and forth on that too. On the one hand I'd love to see him figure it out and become a solid #3. On the other, if he comes up and gets rocked AGAIN, he'll cement himself as a 4A pitcher and he'll have NO value. With that question about what he might be I think he's got more trade value in a package deal.
Yeah, that could most certainly happen.
Do you trade him before calling him back and and use the excuse he's "blocked", thus that's why he's being traded or hold onto him and hope he doesn't implode at the major league level again?
If we're going to package him in a deal than I'd prefer us to include him in a deal for a guy like Morneau (since Tillman's value is pretty high right now) than a guy like Headley. The reason is because I don't think it would take Tillman to get Headley, but that's just my two cents.

Orioles will need a 5th starter on Saturday, which would be the next day he pitches.
Could Tillman be the 5th starter?

4 xbh allowed. Still, walks were down and he continues to get gbs.6/11: 5 ip, 7 hits, 4 er, 1 hr, 1 bb, 4 k's
86 pitches, 54 strikes, 6 grounders
Probably would have pitched 6th inning if game didn't end early.

Wonder why?

Chris Tillman has been scratched Monday at Triple-A Norfolk and could be on his way to Baltimore.
The O's need a starter for Wednesday, and Tillman seems likely to be the guy. He's registered a 2.88 ERA over his last 10 starts at Norfolk and makes for a decent streaming option in AL-only fantasy leagues

Well, it'd be Thursday or Friday (we need starters for both and Arrieta is pitching Wednesday on normal rest), but this makes sense. I may have been wrong in the other thread - they may bring up Britton, even though he hasn't gotten in a groove in AAA yet (still too many walks and not pitch efficient).

But hopefully Tillman can do the job decently. Safeco should be a park that suits his style pretty well.

Tillman is expected to move up to the majors and start Thursday night's game in Anaheim.
Tillman is 8-8 with a 3.63 ERA in 16 games with Norfolk, including 15 starts. He's allowed 85 hits, walked 30 and struck out 92 in 89 1/3 innings.
Tillman has allowed two earned runs or fewer in eight of his last 11 starts. In his last seven, he's permitted 10 runs and 27 hits, walked nine and struck out 49 in 42 2/3 innings. However, he hasn't gone more than six innings in his last four outings - working 5 2/3, 5 1/3, six and five innings.
As long as he keeps the runs to a minimum, Tillman would be viewed as an upgrade for a rotation that's posted a 4.82 ERA, the fourth-highest in the majors.
The Orioles need starters for Thursday and Friday, and the latter assignment could go to left-hander Zach Britton, who would be working on normal rest and allowed only two runs over six innings last night.
