No team would be that stupid so I would be shocked if he got anywhere near that amount.

He was the worst SP in the majors.

He's worth nothing more than an ST invite.

Well, it is MLBTradeRunors not MLBtradefacts. I'm not as convinced as most here seem to be that Tillman is damaged goods  I think if some teams believes he is healthy, he may get more than what you have indicated, horrible 2017 or not.

I think he'll get a guaranteed MLB deal, but not for $10M.  $2-3M max guaranteed, plus incentives.

I hope it's not from us.  I don't think he'll ever be effective again.  Shoulder injuries, man.  Serious stuff.

Ehh, lots of pitchers have pitched with sore shoulders and manager it for years. Nothing to indicate it's a more serious like a labrum tear or even that it bothered him last year. Tillman's mechanics are complicated. I thin that's the main issue. Maybe the increased cross-firing has something to do with the shoulder irritation and you have him go back to a more conventional delivery. If he's healthy, I imagine hell get an extensive physical, he may do ok. I'd be less focused on the 2017 numbers than the reason for the 2017 numbers. Teams will figure that out better than us, so we'll see. Tigers may be a good fit for him. Same team that gave Mike Pelfrey 2/16.

I guess what I'm going to say here is inconsistent, but whatever...

- I think Tillman will rebound to his 2012-16 averages in '18.

- Despite thinking that, I don't think the O's should bet on that.  You have 3 holes in the rotation. You need to obtain starters you definitively believe in, vs. bringing back Tillman and hoping he rebounds.

Chris was never an ace, and because the O's rotation around him often sucked... he took some heat from fans for being our de facto #1. It wasn't his fault he didn't measure up to true #1s and #2 starters across the league.

Had the O's had better pitchers around him, he would have been more appreciated for the consistency he provided to the O's for a 5 year period.

He's a standup guy. He was very solid for the best 5 year stretch this franchise has had in a very long period.

Didn't work out for the rest of the 'cavalry'  (at-least here... Jake)... but he produced.

I wish him well in his next stop, and hope O's fans will in-general grow to remember him as one of the stalwarts of this run.

Chris that was an excellent post. I think we all tend to grade Tillman as the de facto #1 on the team but that was because we haven't had any real solid guys in quite a while so its a bit unfair to him.

Now that said. I am struggling with him rebounding in 2018. I have not seen a single rational explanation as to why an off normal winter and ST resulted in such a horrific season that never improved. If his prep got thrown off ok I get that. But at some point over the course of five more months you would think it would start to correct itself. It didn't.

6 walks in 2 innings today for Tillman, along with 3 hits and 4 runs (Lynn had a hitless 3 innings for the Twins).

Meoli reporting that scouts said it was mechanical.

The question is, is it mechanical because of his shoulder, because of confidence or just an off day?

Awesome start from our #4 SP.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

It's scary to watch him pitch but he's one of Buck's guys.  I'd call him a chicken nugget.  :D

It took a long time for Peterson to fix Tillman and that was before he started the cross-firing stuff.  Not gonna be easy and I'm not sure RM is up to the task.

Tillman is pitching decently today...  not sure if that's good news or bad.

I gathered a lot from the Tigers Announcers (they are pretty good imo).

- Today was Tigers opening day lineup.

- Threw a lot of breaking balls, which were effective.

- FB/FB command did not look good and FB was hit hard.

- Got quite a few GB's off breaking balls

- No walks, but no Strikeouts either

- There were quite a few hard hit balls

- Tigers announcers seem to think the issue was mechanical and indicated he was throwing notably from the third base side of the rubber.

Worried about the FB/FB command and wondering if today was a mew strategy or just the way Sisco called the game. Some good signs but wouldn't do a happy dance yet.

Well, we know he is the best game caller on the staff!

Just got to watch yesterdays game this morning. My impression was it looked like they took away the cross-firing stuff and went back to a more conventional over the top delivery and more consistent arm slot. A square 1 approach I assume. Bad news is he wasn't good. Just  couldn't get over the top on his pitches and the stuff was pretty blah. Also he had become pretty effective with the corssfing stuff for yeas imo. I'd say keep trying for now, but at some point I'd rather see Castro/Cortes etc.

He needs to either accept a demotion to the minors or be released.  Today.
