Waiters will be gone at some point. Would be surprised about Irving.  Think they will give him every chance to learn how to play with LeBron.

By the time this team gets 20-25 games under their belts, they are going to overwhelm teams.

I think Irving being a 3rd capable scorer is a good thing for LeBron long-term. If there are other guys who can take over games... he doesn't always have to be that guy. He can pace himself through further seasons, saving energy for when it matters most.

Yea I don't see them trading Kyrie but there are clearly PGs that would be a better fit on the team...Rondo being the best example and also someone that is likely to be moved.  They set this core up, though, and this is who they are going to ride with.

I do think it will be interesting to see just how passive Irving becomes playing with LeBron.  He has always been the top dog and so much of his game is centered on his scoring.

LeBron has a ton of mileage for a just turned 30 year old player. I don't think what's going on here with the injuries and level of play should be taken lightly; he may very well be done as the best player in the league or as even a top 2-3 player. I'm not saying that's likely, but it shouldn't be assumed that he'll just come back in a couple of weeks and go back to prime LeBron on a consistent basis for the remainder of this year and the next few years.

And if he does not return to prime LeBron this year, they'll be a huge underdog to win it all.

In other words, the Cle curse lives on.

BTW...I know how this is going to be perceived coming from me but I don't care. If LeBron doesn't win another title, at least not as " the man" he has to go down as one of the most overrated players in sports history. Let me explain. He's a terrific individual talent. A top 10 basketball player of all time. However, he is,and has always been, hyped as a transcendent, global icon. I mean he just wouldn't be able to truly light a candle to Jordan, Ali, Pele

He's a top 5 NBA player ever IMO, so no, he won't be one of the most overrated players in sports history. He didn't have to reach MJ level to stay off that list.

Obligatory comment from me: Titles are not the best way to judge a player.

Nope. Transcendent global "kings"of the sports world don't have losing records in Championship title matche of their respective sports.

And with all the hype, yes, he pretty much does need to reach Jordan's level.

So by that logic, it would be better to lose in the conference finals than in the Finals?

And no, that last comment is on you and your over the top reaction to the hype rather than a fair standard to place on him.

When players are given the ability to choose their teammates, this will be true in team sports.

(Of course, he's the guy who was given the closest chance to do that of anyone with the Heat. The team that in his four years went to four Finals and won back-to-back. So, yeah.)

This is one of the most overrated statements in message board history.

You can't possibly have typed that with a straight face and sound mind.

I mean, maybe you just can't fully explain your hatred properly, but is he not a global icon? And is he not above the range of what's considered a "normal" basketball level?

I'd say he's both of those. And if those are your way of rating him, he isn't in fact, overrated.

Hes overrated compared to his hype. Obviously, he's a great player. An All Time great. A top tier pyramid HOFer. He lead his team to 2 titles. So did Hakeem.

I stick by what I said, considering the hype, it's more than fair to compare him to Jordan.

I believe those were the only two Finals where Olajawon appeared, as opposed to the three additional appearances for James.

His titles were when the league was down too. Anyway, why even bother taking into account just how good players are? Lets just rank them by titles.

Im not even talking about him in the sense of just NBA greats. He is one. Its like you guys dont even pay attention. He's not going to become that sports Icon. A MT Rushmore of all sports type guy. A guy thats say, if they were doing SportsCentury again would make the Top 10.  That is and has been  the hype.

He's already a sports icon. He's also the best post Jordan NBA player. Your reaction to the hype is on you, not on the media or Lebron himself.
