Likely just a negotiating ploy, though if anyone would be a candidate to shake up the existing RSN business model, it's probably Ballmer.

Are the Clippers a better team without Blake Griffin? They're 15-3 without him, including an impressive win over Chicago last night....though the rest of their schedule over that period has been fairly light.

Bill Simmons hasn't left his house in 5 days trying to figure out ways to get Blake to the Celtics.
It's absurd that they aren't a better team when he's in the lineup, at least in terms of personnel. Maybe he's a cancer?

It's basically a quarter of the season, but still seems like SSS to me.

Yeah, and like I mentioned the schedule hasn't been that difficult. And luckily for them February isn't too tough either except for back-to-back games against San Antonio and Golden State. March will be much more challenging though, so if he's not back by then we might get a better idea.
