There is just zero punishment here. The $2.5M fine is less than pennies to you and I. Banning him is doing the guy a favor. Its not like banning Pete Rose who still needs to make a living for the next 40 years and again, makes pennies compared to an owner.
Not much anyone can do though. Its not like he did anything against the law. He's just a scumbag.
Pete Rose can still capitalize from his notoriety, but point taken in that regard. That's why when you usually see legal settlements in these types of things, they usually include no book/movie deals so they can't capitalize on that type of thing.
I think doing this at his age is even worse, this is the one toy he can enjoy. The money doesn't go to the grave.
