They are better than Michigan.
And they could beat Louisville.
See Brandon, what you don't seem to get is that in a one and done scenario, just because you win, doesn't mean you are the better team.
It's Branden.
But see, Ravens... 2012, right?

Balls deep.
Also, ball soda.

Or are you saying they are playing like one of the 3 best teams in the country?

Anyway, as I said, we all.seem to agree that Kent is one of if not the most talented teams in the country.
I don't know why its so hard to comprehend a talented team finding their stride. This isn't the Ravens 2012, because that team wouldn't have won a series format against the Broncos or 49ers. Maybe not the Pats.
If this Kentucky team has harnessed the talent, they are legitimately one of the best in the country.

The one and done I feel like I could use as an excuse.
What if they play Louisville and Louisville nips them at the wire in a good game. Is that going to disprove my assertion that they are talented team who has hit an extra gear.

Yes it is Branden . I'm used to it after so long.
Anyway, as I said, we all.seem to agree that Kent is one of if not the most talented teams in the country.

That last line is the key to everything.
First of all, I 1000% agree with that statement.
But that's a lot different than saying they are one of the top 3 teams. Again, as I pointed out, they weren't in the same league with Florida for 31 min...they had lost 4 out of 7 in a garbage conference. They shot 38% against Kansas St.
They played well today but again, they beat a very good team who hadn't really beaten anyone.
How does all of that add up to them being better than Zona and Louisville?
Now, they beat Louisville this year...so, if you want to play that card, ok. Louisville had some team turmoil back then, was still in the hangover stage, etc...but whatever, that is still important.
But the way Louisville ended the year, the fact that all the measurable a have them higher and the fact that they faced tougher competition in conference gives them the edge IMO.
I think it's the choice of words I have an issue with. Saying they ARE a top 3 team is pretty definitive. Saying they have the talent to be a top 3 team and one capable of a deep run is something I wouldn't even think about disagreeing with.
Those are 2 very different statements.

No...that's my point. One and done makes it difficult to say any of that. If you feel they are a top 3 team and they lose 1 game, that doesn't mean you are wrong. If Florida loses next week in the S16, I will still think they are a top 3 team.I'm saying they are one of the 3 most talented teams in the tournament and it sure as heck seems to me they are harnessing that talent.
The one and done I feel like I could use as an excuse.
What if they play Louisville and Louisville nips them at the wire in a good game. Is that going to disprove my assertion that they are talented team who has hit an extra gear.
What I disagree with is looking at them as a TEAM, not a group of individuals, and saying they are top 3.
We agree that talent wise, they are a top 3 team.
But again, those are 2 different statements.

That doesn't mean if I was doing odds at the end of this weekend that I would have Kentucky at longer odds of winning the whole thing than some of those teams.

Let's put it this way, if your doing a weekly rankings during the tournament like you do for most of the year than sure Kentucky isn't in the Top 5. Hell not even the top 15. Sure, Louisville, Florida, Virgina, Mich,Wis,etc have earned more trust and respect based on their overall consistency of the year.
That doesn't mean if I was doing odds at the end of this weekend that I would have Kentucky at longer odds of winning the whole thing than some of those teams.
Ok..that's fine. I trust Kent over Mich, UVA and Wisconsin for sure.
I just hope you can see my point and where I'm coming from.
Just disagreed with the wording of they are a top 3 team...just don't see an argument for that.
Similar to what you said about UNC and how they SHOULD get to the E8.
Capable yes...should? No way...consistency isn't there.
Maybe it's just semantics but to me, top 3 talented team doesn't mean top 3 team.

I would have them right at the same odds as Mich St and Louisville.
Ahead of the rest.

SEC looking to go 6-0.
SEC! SEC! SEC!
Crazy.

Sure some semantics. Again, if I'm doing odds I only have Florida and Zona at shorter odds.
I would have them right at the same odds as Mich St and Louisville.
Ahead of the rest.
Mich St has to beat Florida, UVA and one of ISU/UNC/UCONN.
Kent has to beat Zona/Louisville/Mich.
I think Kentucky should have longer odds....easier road for MsU.

SEC looking to go 6-0.
SEC! SEC! SEC!
Tennessee is the most under seeded team in tourney,
Kenpom had them 6th right now and they are an 11 seed? Wow.

And to be clear about Carolina, I dont necessarily think they are or can be a great team. A lot of what I said about them was the circumstances of playing Iowa St down a starter and a 7th seeded UConn team.
I think they can be good. Kentucky can be great. Kentucky could legitimately go through Wich St, Louisville, Mich and Zona to get to the Finals. Carolina couldn't go through that many top quality teams in a row
