Thats how you do it. Wish more teams in all sports would just throw away a year or two. Its my biggest argument for paying QBs contracts. Put as much of that cap space money into 1 or 2 years as you can possibly do and then on the other end of it the cap number is nice and very manageable again like it is the first 3 or 4 years of their rookie deal. The Ravens could do that. They could do it with still keeping the core guys they want to keep. Youd have replacement level guys at numerous starting positions for a few years but you likely get some high draft picks which can really help and then youre back to having FA money to spend to build back up again. All while still having the QB and a select few other core players you really want.
