If it goes Appel/Buxton/Zunino, it sounds like the O's have it narrowed down to four players. Correa, Fried, Gausman and Zimmer.

I have to think the O's (Rajsich) know who they would take in that scenario. I'm not sure if they named 4 names as to not tip off the teams in front of them or not. I'm not sure of the strategy of putting out those 4 names but at this late point, I would think they'd know who they would take.

Three different groups of players, potential for different asking prices, and perhaps not much separating them. I wouldn't be surprised if they still hadn't come to a set pick. Not to say that I necessarily disagree with you, just that it seems plausible to me that they are still narrowing or feeling out what ripples these picks would set off for them later in the draft..
