Paul George has fallen off a lot, seemingly due to a shoulder issue.

Quite the haul OKC got.  Made the most of that situation.
Figure they trade Russ, but we'll see...

So right now they've got Russ, Adams, Gilgeous-Alexander, Gallinari, Grant, Schroeder....

If they could get a couple of pieces and more picks for Russ, they could be set-up really well.

They could go in different directions.

Could trade some of these assets and try to get another player to go with Westbrook.

But he has a big contract and is on the wrong side of 30. I’m not sure who would want him. Maybe Minnesota?

If I am them, I trade him and completely rebuild.

Yeah I'd be shocked if they didn't trade him at this point. They tried to include him in the potential TOR deal, so they are open to it. They got so many draft picks from the other that I'm guessing a young player, probably from this draft or the last draft would have to be included so they can start adding players to SOMETHING. Hard to get multiple players in the same draft, cause then they hit those contract and FA deadlines at the same time.

Thunder are playing a long-game unseen in recent NBA history: Seven additional first-round picks lined up through 2026 -- plus four pick swaps -- via deals for Paul George and Chris Paul.

I left out Thunder's Jerami Grant deal with Denver: OKC has acquired EIGHT first-round picks since draft night: 2020: Denver (1-10), 2021: Miami; 2022: LAC; 2023: Miami (1-14), 2024: LAC; 2024: Houston (1-14); 2026: LAC; 2026: Houston (1-4).

Spotrac:

Chris Paul is owed $80M over the next 2 seasons + a $44.2M player option in 2021-22. Russell Westbrook is owed $124M over the next 3 seasons + a $47M player option in 2022-23. The #Thunder will clear $2.9M of cap space w/ this move, bringing them just UNDER the luxury tax cap.

These guys are making almost as much as Roger Goodell.   Obscene money, for guys, IMO in decline.   Paul and Russ, Goodell has nothing to decline from.

What Sam Presti does year in and year out to consistently keep the Thunder competitive in a very small market and give OKC future flexibility to bring in big-salaried talent if necessary/desired is remarkable.

^^^^^^

Be ready to update that list, because it sure sounds like the Thunder don't plan to hang on to Walker.
