In victory, United fill the empty spot in their trophy cabinet, and join Bayern Munich, Ajax, Chelsea, and Juventus as the only clubs to win every European competition. They also book their place in the 2017/18 Champions League group stage. From a financial standpoint, they also avoid the absence of extra Champions League cash, as well as a massive 21 million pound penalty that would have been placed by adidas for failing to qualify for the Champions League for two consecutive seasons.

The final was the first European final for Ajax since 1996, when they lost to Juventus as they tried to defend their Champions League title they won 22 years ago today. It was the first for United since the Champions League final six years ago, which they lost to Barcelona. United's victory is the first for an English side in a European final in four years.

Total class act by Ajax. Know first hand how hard it is to stand up there to get a second place (losers) trophy. Now can't wait for Saturday and the FA Cup.
The Red Devils are back in UCL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stoked!!!!!!!!!
