My take on Nestor (and this will be the only time I put this out there):
When a team loses for 15 consecutive seasons, there's going to be a massive audience for your "F the team" mantra. He can bang the drum with the best of them, and people were more than happy to follow as poor on-field results ensued.
When the team starts playing better though, everybody kind of gets tired of that shtick. Even made a comment about MASN going to ESPN during rain delay (why is that something to bitch about? Seriously.). There's an audience for it, but it's dwindling fast.
When that happens and your material dries up, you need to find other ways to keep that "I've got a chip on my shoulder" attitude going, finding ways to imagine you're slighted anyway possible.
Whatever. Reality TV exists because people like drama. If you want reality TV when it comes to baseball, I'll gladly point you to NEstor. If you actually want to understand the game of baseball better, I hope you find the stuff I (and the rest of the BSL staff) write to be insightful.
