Interesting... Pitch FX has Tillman throwing a slider 5% of the time so far in '13. Palmer relays Tillman's comments that he does not throw a slider.

Interesting. Brooks Baseball has a guy who checks the grips on the pitches from gameday photos to determine where MLBAM might be getting it wrong. Surprised he hasn't caught on.

Tillman has looked good so far IMO. Pitch calling has been eh.

That's actually what I'm watching the game for. His best pitch and out-pitch is the curve, so I'm looking to see when and how much they are calling it. Also interesting...MW is taking pitch calls from the dugout.

Yeah pitch f/x will read some pitches incorrectly. It has a lot of trouble with curves and sliders.

Why?  My kids are kinda tough and it's more an elective, but i keep it current and based on sports and pop culture as much as possible...they learn SOMETHING I think.

You sound like one of the good ones.

Lot of pitches this inning...

Soooooooo, what you're saying is you fear he won't go 6 innings...and we'd be shocked?!  This IS the Orioles' starting pitching after all...

Ugh. I hate throwing two straight CBs to Pujols after 0-2. Go Cutter or Fastball on that 1-2 count. Attack the zone.

Part of why he was successful in 2012 was because he mixed his pitches better, threw more fastballs when ahead & more breaking balls when behind.
