Hasn't he been grooming his son to be the decision maker once he's over the hill? Dallas could be in for a long run of irrelevance. Yet, it's Texas, so they'll never be hurting, outside of national PR.

His kids and son-in-law (chief glasses cleaner) are all in the business. Stephen Jones is listed as "Director of Personnel"

Not sure I'd say Jason Garrett is in a no-lose situation, but he can justify either outcome now. If they lose, he can say "if only we had Romo." If they win, it looks even better than before -- "we won without our 'star' quarterback."

Fox Sports: Brent sentence, not Sherman outburst, is where outrage truly belongs

http://msn.foxsports...-belongs-012414

Agreed!

The lawyer said there were 34 people on probation in Dallas County for intoxication manslaughter. Why should Brent be singled out for being a high-profile football player?

Why is he different?

Because blood tests showed he had the equivalent of 17 drinks the night of Dec. 8, 2012. That’s a bit excessive for even a 320-pound man.

The team has a staff member whose main job is to give players rides if they have too much to drink. The team also contracts two limousine companies to provide rides at a moment’s notice.

The NFL Players Association has a hotline players can call if they need a car service. Brent was making $490,000 a year, so he could have afforded to call his own cab.

The Cowboys have released DeMarcus Ware.   I'm...shocked.   He won't be available for long.

My first guess might be Eagles. I believe they have a lot of cap space, D was awful last year, and staying in the NFC East might appeal to Ware.

I'm guessing the Jets.

I'm guessing the Jets.

Does he fit their scheme?  While Ware played in the 3-4 and 4-3, there was little to no difference in his role because Wade's 3-4 is a 1-gap scheme.  As a situational pass rusher he'd obviously be helpful, but I think Rex asks his OLBs to do a bit more overall for a guy set to get starter money.

Fun fact:   UConn now has more postseason wins in Cowboy Stadum (2) than the Dallas Cowboys (1).

Really enjoyed the first comment that their #1 need is a general manager.
