ESPN: Cowboys' Josh Brent retires

Cowboys should've just cut him and not allowed him to "retire" gracefully. Not that it really matters. I don't think atleast. Is there any incentives to retiring over being cut besides PR?

Is this in honor of being locked into a terrible contract with Romo?

Sunday night, hosting Philly. Going to be an awful lot of eyes on the Cowboys.
Garrett and the Coaching Staff apparently not returning if they lose.

Third year in a row, they've had a win and in situation. I'm not a Jerry Jones fan, but I don't think you can really fault him for firing Garrett if he loses.

He should fire himself first.

That's been said before, don't think that's happening. He's the owner he can do how sees fit. Until Cowboys fans stop showing up to games, he has little incentive to do that. Yeah, I get that he would like winning more, but he still thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. They'll also have trouble getting a top notch GM since they'll know who is calling the shots.

Hasn't he been grooming his son to be the decision maker once he's over the hill? Dallas could be in for a long run of irrelevance. Yet, it's Texas, so they'll never be hurting, outside of national PR.

Well yeah, if he didn't throw the interception to give the lead away, he wouldn't have to then come back so many times.
