LOL the Fins dropped SEVENTY on the Broncos today.

Two shy of the all-time record set by Washington against the Giants in 1966. But Denver can take solace in holding the Fins to 726 total yards AND they have Sean Payton.

They took a knee rather than kick a FG and go for the record, too. Not sure that's something to brag about, but...

Didn't see the game so I wasn't aware of that.
What's funny is that when Washington beat the Giants, 72-41, in that 1966 game, they had lost to the Giants earlier that year. In fact, that was the only game the Giants won that year (although they did manage one tie). They were historically bad. It's really unusual to see a game like that in today's NFL, though, with so much parity legislated in.

I saw that they took a knee rather than kick a FG that would have broken the regular season record and tied the all time record. Their coach said, "It felt like chasing points, chasing a record, that’s not what we came here to do. That doesn’t have a bearing on the overall season outcome. Ten times out of 10 you concede and kneel down in those situations. Because there was an attainable record, that was cool, but the message I thought it would send wasn’t in line with how I view things."
I thought it was a classy sportsmanship thing to do. I wonder if Harbaugh would have kicked the FG in that spot. He probably would have been a d-bag and do it. Little records like that are a big deal to him. I remember a couple of years ago the Ravens intercepted Denver in the end zone with like 12 seconds left in the game. A knee at the 20 ends the game and they win. They were also 2 or 3 yards away from extending a meaningless streak of games with over 100 yards rushing. So Harbaugh runs Lamar Jackson on the sweep for just enough yardage to extend the streak and tie the record. Real classy move there.

Not there to chase points? They put up 21 in the 4th with a 49-13 lead.
I think Miami had pulled a lot of their starters by then, Tua included, but Denver had the look of a team that had packed it in by that point.

Yeah but they couldn't start taking a knee at the beginning of the 4th. They had a lot of starters out and were running the ball mostly. You can't ask guys who don't play very often to not try to show their stuff when they get the chance. Denver was disgraceful. I don't even know how Sean Payton answers for that one.

Seriously. Miami should consider themselves lucky that the Denver defense didn't just start dropping late hits on them.

I still don’t buy Miami as a serious contender. Plus Tua is one more concussion away from retirement.
