What a crushing move that would be for the franchise here in Portland, as it means they would be going head-to-head with the Trail Blazers for ticket sales and TV ratings. Totally bad idea.

Yeah, that'd be a real shame.  Timbers games are soooo much fun, largely b/c of the crowd.

"Highlight" from DCU's final road game of their dismal 2013 season.............

Woolard.gif

Only the 5th team in the history of the league to go winless in all of their road games and they also get at least a share of the record for fewest victories.   Seriously, just a pathetic season (even including the US Open Cup) and yet, somehow, upper management will be returning.

It's nice to see Portland atop the West there.  They're probably the only professional team I root for outside of all my DMV-based teams.

With DCU having a historically bad season it's nice to see Portland pull a worst-to-first.  With a game Saturday on the road against Chivas, they'll probably need a win to wrap up 1st in the West since Salt Lake gets to play at home against Chivas on Wednesday.

In the East, Houston and New England have a decent shot at passing Chicago in the standings since they play DC and Toronto, while the Fire play at NY.

A DC United fan?  Already bummed out, in countless ways, over the state of the club?  Well here's some more.  "Highlights" include:

Vancouver’s Camilo Sanvezzo scored 22 goals to win the Golden Boot. United scored 22 goals.

United conceded more own goals (four) than any D.C. player scored (three).

I watched the Montreal/Houston match last night and was kinda surprised by how empty the place was.

I get that it was Halloween and lots of families (that may have otherwise attended) were out with their kids trick-or-treating and stuff but for a playoff game, an elimination game no less, that place had a lot of empty seats.

That is unless, of course, everyone came dressed as an orange seat as their Halloween costume.

Reliant was pretty empty I noticed for the Houston Cougars game as well. I know it's off-campus, not the greatest opponent, but they're 7-1 now.

Did not watch the match, but saw the video of the ending where Montreal finished playing with 8 men.  Really bad sportsmanship there.
